About Me

A Chinese girl that is easygoing&open-minded. Curiosity is my nature, so sometimes I would ask some " sound- stupid" questions :) Most of the time I do not necessarily need an answer though.

I used to work as a marketing consultant with a leading consultancy on China Chemical fibers and textiles industry and quite enjoyed talking to my clients with various cultural background all over the world. I feel lucky as most of them are indeed nice and kind, just like my friends! I worked really hard and got some good opportunities such as speaking on some International conferences. My colleague and I once gave a presentation for the general assembly of European man-made fibers association in Brussels; And we also spoke on an annual event " Investing on Cellulose" in London.

However, I have to quit my beloved job because of the severe air pollution issue in that district . I cannot even breathe and was really unhappy and stressful. I feel hopeless and could not see my future! Then finally I made the decision-quit my job and leave the terrible place!

After quitting my job, I applied for a US visa and went on the travel by myself! I just bought the ticket like 3 days before and flied to US!!! I did not even make a very detailed travel plan but I believe the best things happen when you least expect them to !

I have traveled to BELGIUM, UK and US. And I admit I am a lucky traveler as I always meet many great people who truly helped me and inspired me! I sometimes feel I owe them a lot and try to pay it back to my hosts in some certain ways(maybe because of our Chinese Culture), but one of my hosts in San Francisco told me couchsurfing is not about paying back to your hosts but to pass it forward !

Compared with those incredible people I met, I have to say I am really far away from being great but I do have a good heart. I have my hard times but I smile a lot, even to strangers on the street. Usually I am simple-minded and hate dealing with complicated people&things, but meanwhile I never stop thinking about life and the future. So I am a simple-minded but think-A-lot girl :) Sounds like a weirdo :P

I am trying my best to be a more positive and happier person so as to make others happy and bring "positive energy"to the people around. " Always looking on the bright side of life " I picked up this line when I was traveling in London and now it has become my philosophy of life. Your own happiness is the best gift to give to others .

"Even when life turns out different than what you've planned, it’s always better to try and fail than to wonder what could have been! " Quote! I really like this saying and it has become another motto of mine!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I got to know Couchsurfing from a book written by a Taiwanese girl named MEI EN LIEN (連美恩) who traveled around Europe by couchsurfing. https://www.facebook.com/lienmeien

Later I signed in on the website, but only started to use it last year in April when I traveled to UK by myself. I couchsurfed in London and Oxford . Both my hosts in London and Oxford are quite nice and helpful! Meanwhile, I also met some other great people during my traveling there.

I believe that the best part about traveling is to meet great people and know about each other's life !
