ABOUT ME

Hello, my name's Marina and life is AMAZING

Have a 29' sailboat which have been cruising around Mexico with my incredible Argentinian Boyfriend- who is now Husband💕We got married in Hawaii in 2021!!

Have sailed across the Atlantic twice and gotten to live/visit most of the Caribbean, a little of mainland Portugal and Spain but stick mainly with Islands; Baleric, Canaries, Cape Verde, and 100 days travelling around all 9 islands in the Azores (favorite place visited so far). Know virtually all of Central and North America.... main form of travelling is crewing (you can also thumb a ride amazingly enough) on sailboats and hitchhiking 18 wheelers :)

Have had mulitple motorcycles (most in the Honda variety) and travelled across the US on route 66

Vipassana meditation, twice - Went 10 days of no talking, eye contact, reading, and meditating 12 hours a day- the food was delicious!! Definitely a life changing experience, and a beautiful one. on a different spiritual note partook in 4 Ayahuasca ceremonies while in Peru. It was very intense and would share if interested.

Became a Dive Master in Panama and enjoy the magic of the underwater world and Learned how to Surf in Mexico/Hawaii

Horseback riding- Am from Texas... and yes also know how to shoot a gun, haha

Hitch hiking- why pay to sit on a bus where no one talks to eachother when you can make new friends and get taken to some of the most amazing places - also the epitome of Serendipity

Am horrible at making long term plans, so just live in thd present, and go with the flow of reality.

PHILOSOPHY

'The countries are an illusion. The only real territory is the Earth.' - Jodorowsky

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Surf when ever it makes since- though hitchhiking leads to many adventures and sometimes an extra house on the beach or sleep in the hammock and hope it doesn't rain.

Was an active host in Boston and attend meetups when ever there's the chance.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

While hitching a ride in Tulum, Mexico at the age of 18 was given a ride by super cool folks, which then turned into travelling together for a few days. During this time was told about an organization (because back then it was actually .org and not so commercial) which sounded like a much better set up than my current hammock on the beach. Dead set on finding the website as soon as I got in range of wifi logged on and haven't regretted it since!!

Have made some great life long friends through this website, and encourage other like minded travellers to log in too!!

Interests

The practice of getting lost usually leads to finding greater things than one could ever have expected. Therefore when given a choice I go with the gut feeling, and never regret the choice.

Getting to know you sounds pretty good too- unless of course I already do!! What other reasons do you have for reading my profile? Don't be creepy.

Music, Movies, and Books

Have yet to grow from the classic Disney Movies. Other than cartoons enjoy a very wide variety from corny chick flick to war action- though do try to stay away from the horror spectrum, and if asked usually choose comedy!

Never been able to really get into opera, rap, or music that gives a headache. Am constantly being showed new artists, and love the contrast of my iPod library.
Though for a generic brief range like; Kings Of Leon, Imagine Dragons, Tool, Toby Mac, Eric Church, The Beatles, Zac Brown Band, Bob Marley, Xxavier Rudd, and current Favorite is Nahko Bear and Medicine for the People🎵

Reading is life, breathing is just a hobby!
Books= Love the art of a collection of letters coming together and the trail they pave for ones mind to explore. Tending to enjoy "real" things stick to nonfiction, but a good historical novel or Zombie appocalypse Guide is always welcome.
