About Me

We're a musical duo PALEFACE, featuring Paleface "PF" and drummer Monica "Mo" Samalot. We're also a couple. We're creative, friendly, clean, respectful, hardworking, responsible. In 2007 we left our jobs and apts in NYC in order to become independent touring musicians (currently based in North Carolina, but touring the U.S. and parts of Europe).

-Mo was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Moved to Washington DC to study Architecture and Planning and then moved to NYC to work. First job at an Architecture firm was at the Chrysler Bldg. Started playing drums while living in NYC. Loves chocolate and red wine.

Pet Allergies: Mo gets asthma from cats, so we can't stay with hosts that have cats. Most dogs are ok as long as we're in a separate room.
Food Allergies: Mo is allergic to soy, seafood, mushrooms, walnuts, some spices....Avoids wheat & glutten when possible.

-PF is Paleface (Sezalot Music SESAC). He's originally from Connecticut but spent most of his life in NYC. Grammy winner Beck calls Paleface one of his main early influences. Paleface has also collaborated w/ The Avett Brothers. He loves dogs. PALEFACE, was schooled musically by Daniel Johnston and soon discovered at an NYC open mic by Danny Fields (The Stooges, The Ramones, MC5). He's released over a dozen albums. He avoids grains, specially, wheat-gluten, alcohol.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing has helped us connect with so many awesome people as we tour. It makes the touring experience so much more special and interesting...specially when our hosts join us at a show and get to meet us in our element. Of course If we're playing a show in your town and you host us, we'd be happy to get you tickets to the show. But we would not be offended if our host has other plans and can't join us at the show. Most shows are open to the public, including festivals, clubs, theaters, colleges, fairs, records stores, bars, breweries...but we also play private events, parties and even some very special and intimate house concerts.

Being touring musicians requires a lot of hard work and and resilience....and were very thankful for all the help and support we've received from the Couchsurfing community.
