About Me

CURRENT MISSION

exploring every option I have!

ABOUT ME

I am an architect-in-training, a citizen of the world, a secular humanist, bitter optimist, traveler, drinker/drunk, writer, story-teller, human rights advocate, freak, geek, and celebutante in training!

PHILOSOPHY

"Narrow minds devoid of imagination. Intolerance, theories cut off from reality, empty terminology, usurped ideals, inflexible systems. Those are the things that really frighten me. What I absolutely fear and loathe."
— Haruki Murakami

Fear makes strangers of people who would be friends.
Shirley MacLaine

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My couch is always open when I'm home in Pittsburgh (come visit!) and I've surfed through several places in America. Most memorably in a cross-country roadtrip with my roommate Adam and another roadtrip with fellow couchsurfers south. It has been incredible meeting CSers who have greeted me from all over with open arms and encouraging to know that people are capable of such good. When I'm not traveling you will likely see me at local events mingling with other CSers.

Summer 2010 I worked in NYC and befriended an awesome community of surfers.
Summer 2011 I'm worked in Philly and couldn't ask for a better way to fall in love with the city than through the wonderful CS community here! I fell harder and deeper in love with a city than I ever have in my life and I have y'all to thank for that!

"Chance encounters are what keep us going."
— Haruki Murakami

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've loved meeting the great and generous community of couchsurfers from traveling and going to events. It's been a blast hosting in Pittsburgh and being able to prove to people time and time again how great the city really is. Equally fun has been staying in all sorts of places and being duly shown the great possibilities of those places. It has truly transformed my life.

Some of the best people I've met in my life I can confidently say that I've met through CS... the kind of people that make you wonder what the hell you're doing with your own life... the kind that make me even more wanderlust than I already am... and the kind that are so contagiously friendly (some even intimidatingly so :)). Perhaps I've met you in the past or will in the future?
