About Me

CURRENT MISSION

joy! when life inspires, when it pleases, when it hurts

ABOUT ME

i love everything outdoors and everything creative. learning to let my creative voice speak and loving it. gaining a better idea each day of what i love to do for work, and destroying the barrier between my work and my personal lives. bringing things i love personally into work, and learning from work to more enjoy the rest of my life. love writing poetry, getting lost in the woods, and growing in letting my creative light shine.

PHILOSOPHY

i would like to beg you, dear sir, as well as i can, to have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and to try to love the questions themselves as if they were locked rooms or books written in a very foreign language. don't search for the answers, which could not be given to you now, because you would not be able to live them. and the point is, to live everything. live the questions now. perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer. -rainer maria rilke

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

i have surfed extensively over the past year and a half, and am excited to host now that i (will) finally (soon) have a place in bend.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i have had only the most enjoyable experiences. i've made a few good friends from people i've surfed with. the best story was when i was in tennessee, biking solo across the country, i was set up to couchsurf that night with a girl and her boyfriend. i was bit pretty good by a stray dog and had to go to the ER. they drove out 45 minutes to pick me up and stayed with me the whole time at the hospital, then made sure i was fed and comfortable at their home. i can't thank them enough.

Interests

leaves in autumn, the ocean lapping at your feet, the smell of rain in the desert, mountains!, especially seeing them when they're not there, writing and reading poetry, making and drawing inspiration from art. being outside, bicycling adventures, being awed. laughing, taking pictures, making things,

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

the sunset over the painted desert in arizona with two friends. we all literally cried. it gave us a feeling of interconnectedness with all things, of being tiny yet an inextricable part of the whole all at once.

Teach, Learn, Share

my interests vary widely, so i know a bit about a lot of things. i'm told i'm a good conversationalist, and i certainly love a good conversation. i have a few pretty good stories from traveling for the past year and a half. i've been trying to teach myself guitar for a while, with limited success, so i'd love to learn that. i'd love to teach you about vipassana meditation, a little bit of yoga, or photography. i'd love to take you on a hiking or backpacking trip, snowboarding, biking. i have plenty of advice and ideas for anyone thinking of biking across the country, especially alone. i'd also be up for teaching anyone to knit, and i could teach a little bit of guitar, though i'm definitely still learning myself.
