About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Satiate some mad wanderlust

ABOUT ME

I consider myself easy-going and outgoing.

I've just spent the past six years living in California in an awesome co-op where I honed my cooking, gardening, and people skills. I also worked as a nanny, a sales rep for a startup, erotic masseur, media/tech for a social justice nonprofit, a taxi driver, and a caregiver for a disabled gentleman.

I have a bachelor's degree in journalism and have since branched off to study sustainability/organic farming with a focus on social justice, permaculture and food sovereignty. I’ll be traveling through Central America during the next six months WWOOFing and work/studying on diff regenerative farm systems.

Probably my favorite thing to do is travel and experience the previously unknown. I have an extremely extensive bucket list, so there's no time to waste!

I want to do it all, I want to get my pilot's license, I want to climb Mt. Everest, I want to live in a foreign country, I want to grow everything I need to eat, I want to hitchhike, I want to learn to surf (as well as overcome my fear of sharks), I want to see the Northern lights, I want to be bilingual, I want to influence people and make them laugh.

I like pointing out weird nuances in the English language.

PHILOSOPHY

I once saw a special on TV about happiness and I mean usually the programs are crap but this one kind of stuck with me. They interviewed a woman who talked about "the plateau". Everyone has their plateau; the image they craft in their ideal future where everything levels off, worries subside and they're set for life. But guess what? It doesn't work like that! You'll always struggle with things and you'll always have concerns to weigh you down but the point is to not let them outshadow the good things. I think when someone creates this plateau they're limiting themselves to one path through life and ultimately setting themselves up for disappointment when it doesn't work out exactly as planned. That's not to say we shouldn't work towards our goals and dreams! But its good to have a few backups as well. I guess what I'm getting at, as corny as it sounds is that you really do have to expect the unexpected. Did that make sense?
