About Me

I grew up in Michigan, moved away, traveled around and then moved back. Then I left and have been on an east coast road trip for about three months. I'm looking for my people and a place to put down some roots.

Please don't ask me what I do. I studied engineering in college but it didn't stick. Career passion has sadly evaded me and I've been unemployed for a long, long time. I volunteer and stuff.

In 2015 I got pretty fired up about Bernie Sanders and his becoming our next president. I had a fairly right-wing upbringing, but it never sat well with me. After living in progressive San Francisco for eight years and Berlin, Germany, for two, I can very clearly see that the roots of world problems are planted in the American oligarchy that Bernie is fighting. After that campaign ended, I stuck in the fight in whatever other ways I could, helping to end gerrymandering in Michigan and helping the blue wave get along. I liked Andrew Yang in 2020.

I think about big existential stuff a lot more than I should. The harm of religion has been a major theme of my thoughts for the past ten or so years. I made this: https://www.stopindoctrination.org

I'm an activist, anti-theist, satanist, nudist, animal lover, feminist, home-body, web hack, do-gooder, and vegetarian. Moooo!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted and surfed but not much lately.

I've been a couchsurfer in Canada, Mexico, the US, New Zealand, Australia and Fiji.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had loads of great ones. For example, my host in San Antonio gave me a tour of the town on his tandem recumbent tricycle. Everyone we passed smiled and waved. We were rock stars.

Another time I stayed with a guy who used to be the navigator in a plane flying drugs for the Medellin cartel. He was pretty nice. I'm glad he changed careers.

I did most of my hosting when I lived in San Francisco. That was lots of fun. I had a motorcycle back then and would tour around all the checklist spots while all my local friends were busy at work. Ask me about the time a guest and I were extras in a movie. I can't write about that one here. :)
