HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to host, and I love to surf. It's such a beautiful thing! I also enjoy coordinating meetups in the area and used to do new member welcome before CS went corporate. I once organized an Oklahoma City Invasion that was a pretty fun weekend of getting Tulsa and OKC surfers acquainted!

LOCAL RECOMMENDATIONS: (These are my personal favorites. Of course, every Tulsan will have their own favorites that may differ from mine.)

Best pizza: Andolini’s
Best burger: Fat Guy Burgers
Best Indian: India Palace
Best diner/home cooking: The Brook, Shilohs
Best Thai: Lanna Thai
Best BBQ: Mac’s in Skiatook. In Tulsa I like Elmer’s BBQ.
Proclaiming a “best” bbq place is also a good way to start a rumble in the south. Referring to Oklahoma as “the south” is also a good way to stir up debate.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen a meteor that lit up the whole sky, experienced the incredible silence of a temple, been moved by kindness of others.....

I've walked through an ice tunnel in Switzerland, danced in a random parking lot outside Chicago, taken a gondola ride under the Bridge of Sighs.

I walked across Spain.

I finished a PhD.
