About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Recently moved to Boston. Currrently soaking in everything the city has to offer.

ABOUT ME

Born and raised in Chicago and spent a number of years in Milwaukee. Currently living in Boston as I live out a dream of mine to move out here. Knew one person before I moved here and have absolutely loved it since. This city has a lot of offer from American Revolution history, Sports centric culture, European feel to certain areas of town, and Irish culture. It has been fun exploring the rest of New England.

I have a passion for traveling as much as possible. A vacation day in your own city is a vacation day wasted. I have trips planned for Tampa, Peru, and Alaska in the near future. I try to visit New York City as much as possible as my sister lives there. One of my favorite cities to visit. My most recent international trip was to Ireland and the UK with my family to visit my brother who was studying in Galway, Ireland at the time.

PHILOSOPHY

Enjoy getting to know people and asking about their life experiences. It is one of the things that has drown me to CouchSurfing as you get to meet so many different people, even within your own country. I also rather be an active traveler than a sit on a beach type. I spent a week at a beach house on a remote island recently. Nice to hang out with my cousins, but I really missed not being able to explore that much on this small island.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host people when I can. I have yet to go to a place where I have surfed, but hope to soon.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted someone from Vienna, Austria for 3 days in Milwaukee, WI. I loved living in Milwaukee, WI, but found it humorous that she spent more time in Milwaukee than I did when visiting Berlin (2 days). Also, I hosted someone from Boston while living in Milwaukee who was on a road trip of all the baseball parks in the US. Huge baseball fan so it was a good fit.

Interests

Love sports, namely the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, and Marquette University Golden Eagles basketball team.

Enjoy biking around the city as much as possible, although I got hit twice this summer. On back-to-back days. I laugh about it since I am OK. Enjoy hiking, camping, and skiing, although it has been a few years for any of them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most beautiful sight I have seen in my travels was Crater Lake in Southern Oregon, a state in the USA. The water is so pure and the snow and mountain-like slopes are pristine. Also, at night you can see so much stardust, which for a city boy was a lot for me.
