About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To have new stories to tell my friends...I think I have just about bored them all to death with the stuff I did 10 years ago...time to update my experiences and create some new memories!

ABOUT ME

After 10 solid years of hard work and uni study....I deserved a break.
I had no commitments to keep me in the UK and a few events reminded me that life is too short to continually trudge along in the rat race. SOOOO I packed up my backpack, left my job and took 'a year off'.

My year on a working holiday visa in Australia became 8 months of PURE holiday and fun seeing all but Western Australia. The remaining months I worked for an energy company in Sydney. I TOTALLY fell in love with this incredible city because it has everything I need.

Great people
Beaches
Mountains
Fun activities EVERY DAY
Wonderful weather
and most importantly....my best friends.

I can't host at the moment but I try to stay involved with CS events. x

PHILOSOPHY

Make everything I touch better than when I found it. (Except chocolate cake... That doesn't stand a chance!!)
If you always do what you always did....you'll always get what you always got.
Plan to take chance opportunities... Keep the door to possibilities open.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Already I have arranged events, attended more, spent time getting to know every area of Australia through the eyes of my host, I have shared my knowledge and learned from others! What better way to enjoy your travels than to be able to instantly avoid the tourist traps that a 'normal' backpacker would be subjected to! I'm not a freeloader and I don't appreciate freeloaders, I don't see Couchsurfing as free accommodation...it's about sharing experiences and making new friends.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have a look at my references to see see where I have been. I have CS surfed all over Singapore and Australia. And now I am returning the favour and offering my couch when I can. (Especially to those who have hosted me in the past)
I must get 20 requests a day and I try to reply to everyone but sometimes I miss people out. Especially if I am working away. SORRRRRRRY!!!

Interests

EVERYTHING...especially things I have never done before! So try me!

  • culture
  • backpacking
  • business
  • beaches
  • mountains

Music, Movies, and Books

I like nearly all kinds of music. If I can relax, sing or dance to it...then all the better!
I am always at the cinema and again, will watch anything. I have only ever walked out of the cinema once (random hearts with harrison ford - zzzzz)
I manage to read a book a week. Right now I'm reading about Elon Musks incredible story of a single man challenging the norms in space travel, cars and energy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was guided to the edge of the Grand canyon with my eyes closed...and then after a suspensful few minutes, I was told I could open them...it was the most incredible sight I had seen. I don't often cry about anything, but I was awe struck and burst into tears!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I've been a project manager, strategic and business consultant and now Associate Director of digital technologies. I've had a varied past in my career but the theme has always been the same. I like to be involved in new ideas at the beginning. Where I get to improve something from broken to fixed. Small to large. Old to New. I can make sense out of chaos.

My friends bring me all their problems because I can always help them think of practical solutions to everything.

I want to use CS to learn about your culture, and find those little places that only the locals know about. I want to make connections. Build relationships and just enjoy this precious life.

Countries I’ve Visited
