ABOUT ME

I am really into travelling (surprise) and love to get to know other cultures, people, traditions, ways of lives.

After having lived in South Africa for 3 years I went back to Germany in 2017. Now living just across the border in the Netherlands so get to enjoy both countries every day.

As a teacher I enjoy being off 3 months a year and try to travel as much as I can.

PHILOSOPHY

You should work for a living but not live for working!

We don't have too little time, we just waste too much of it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Couchsurfing is a great invention.

I love this attitude of giving and taking.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've couchsurfed in England, Scotland, Holland, Belgium, France, USA, Thailand, South Africa and Germany so far and have been hosting people from Germany, France, Australia, Holland, Hong Kong and South Africa. My overall experience is very good. I love to hear all those stories from people that I meet via couchsurfing. One of my favourite things to do with couchsurfers is to talk about food and drinks (well, not only talk about them).

Interests

Sports - jogging in particular, but also cycling, swimming and scuba diving

Cars - the fast ones but also the old ones.

Animals - love to play with animals, I have 3 very hyper dogs (Manni, Milo and Zoey) who keep me busy all the time - in a good way

Cooking - I am probably not the best cook, however, I try hard and am always willing to learn and to try new things!

Photography - Like to take pictures of nature

Meeting friends and making new friends - There is nothing better than sharing great moments with nice people over a beer or a glass of wine

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Standing at the edge of Grand Canyon and staring into the valley.

Scuba diving in Bali with huuuge manta rays.

Riding on an elephant in Thailand, getting a shower from him and constantly climbing up his back again as he thought it was funny to throw me off when we were splashing in a river.

Being chased by a crocodile when hiking at Cumberland Nature Reserve, South Africa.

Jumping off the arch at Moses Mabida stadium in Durban.

Teach, Learn, Share

Would love to play the piano and will get round to it soon hopefully.

I could teach you some German or some interesting stuff about history. I'm very interested in languages. So if you can teach me some words in a foreign language, I'd be happy.

I am also a qualified masseuse and can give you a relaxing back and neck massage.
