About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Prepare my Snails for the Snail Racing Championships

ABOUT ME

"All about me?" Hmm....well, I don't want to bore or lie to you, so I will give you some basics. I am a 32 year old, power consuming, meat eating, atheist. Born in Wellington and managed to survive several years in Timaru in New Zealand. I lived in Christchurch and was earning a crust working in IT.

I lived in Berlin for 10 months - my dirty, awesome, alternative, fun home away from home. After somehow getting some good grades, I worked in Auckland for a bit, went to Prague and it seemed to be an alright place. Went back to Auckland, worked for a day, and came back to Prague, so here I am. You are more than welcome to ask me about the wee town or the country.

Looking forward to meeting some more people and practicing muj moc spatny Cesky!

PHILOSOPHY

Say yes! Probably not Plato's or Aristotle's exact philosophy, but I'm sure they eventually said yes at some point.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I mostly enjoy understanding a new culture - how to pour a beer in Germany, learning not to stand in any bike lane in Denmark and eventually driving on the right side of the road in Slovenia.

I can try and teach you the bluntness of the Kiwi accent and how to play cricket if you have the time. I can also tell if you have flip flops on the wrong way.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Travelled around Europe and met some of the coolest people, from Ljubljana to Glasgow.

A funny experience... I was staying with some weird Danish couple in Copenhagen - I just arrived at their doorstep at 8am and was greeted by a drunk/hungover girl for some reason... Apparently she and her husband were drunk from a wedding party the night before which I had no idea about (their OWN wedding party...). So, after some hungover advice about where to go and how to get to bjfdgysgt street (and that was literally the pronunciation given, even slowly), I managed to get there in one piece.

There was also a pet mouse that was in the same room as me, and woke me every 2 hours rattling around in it's cage, BUT

1. These people saved my arse because some horrible girl who agreed to host completely ignored my messages and within a day of going to Copenhagen I had no place to stay. These guys let me stay - awesome! And 2. I met a really cool Dane who I hung out with to avoid the mouse. It was a scary mouse.

Even then, my time in Copenhagen was survived/enjoyed by viewing a guy kung fu kick the stomach of a train warden (and then the train warden, running after and then throwing a beer bottle at him) and some punk trying to steal my friends bike literally within 5 metres of us!

Interests

Love sports, mainly cricket and also really like football. I even managed to get interviewed for German TV for the NZ vs Paraguay game at the last World Cup. Best interview ever after 3 hefeweizens.

After living overseas, I'm more open to new things and new interests.

I have an excellent taste in music....

Some of my Fav Bands: Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam, The Datsuns, The Hives, Dandy Warhols, Gomez, Portishead, Queens of the Stone Age, Pixies, Placebo, Peter Fox etc etc
