About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To constantly consider, explore, and promote the natural biodiversity and aesthetics of Earth the super-organism

ABOUT ME

The most obvious observation is that I am an easy-going, laid-back, chill individual. Yes, I am very much a free spirited, curious guy. I am self-taught and constantly experimenting. I enjoy being the fly-on-the-wall as much as I enjoy being the central interactive point. I maintain a strong connection to reality while also lucidly dreaming on occasion. Lately, I'm beginning to understand that synchronistic occurrences are tethered to the many different realms of reality all entwined in our holographic universe! Intuitive perception is the key to living a genuine, open, and shareable life.
I also have an insatiable interest in conservation ecology and the great outdoors. I&I in JahFlow

I have a passion for local, organic farming and gardening. My life flow, wherein my passions are the strongest, has lead me to live an active farming life. After finishing college and leaving the deep south in the spring of 2011, I began living and working on small farms and gardens in the US in order to gain skills in self-sufficiency, form connections through interdependency, and manifest my destiny by living in JahFlow. Since 2011, I have been an intern on CSA farms, been a caretaker for three different herds of goats, blogged about my experiences while farming, been a farm-sitter, and have grown flowers for arrangements. Farmers are kinfolk; animals are friends.

PHILOSOPHY

Zen Taoist in philosophical leanings steeped in Deep Ecology with a pinch of pantheism makes up my holistic but personal spirituality. I&I in JahFlow.
"We are bleeding at the roots because we are cut off from the Earth." -D.H.Lawrence

I have an insatiable interest in conservation science as it is crucial to my livelihood on this earth. I desire to live in peace with and in constant consideration of Earth/Mother Gaia/Jah/god.
I enjoy the shareable life. "Silver and gold have I not; but such as I have, give I you."
The first step on the path to finding an answer is to ask a question. Fire away!
Please remove your shoes at the door, and always leave the door to nature open.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

"Let all with something to say be free to express themselves. The true and sound will survive. The false and unsound will be vanquished. Government should keep out of the battle and not weigh the odds in favor of one side or the other." - John Milton's marketplace of ideas
Hosting people and being hosted will allow an open forum of ideas to be created. We all will gain knowledge and experience because of this free exchange of ideas.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My close friend and housemate in college first introduced me to CS.org. This concept of CS that he showed me and his trust for people blew me away! It threw the doors of my worldview wide open! And the shareable life quickly rubbed off on me.
CS strengthens my faith in humanity and builds my trustworthiness as a human being.
Couchsurfers & our host counterparts are building the social capital needed for a future where financial capital will be of little importance. This is all part of the paradigm shift! This is how we get "ahead of the curve".
Before ever surfing, we hosted CSers and travelers of all sorts (warmshowers-ers, train-hoppers, bikepolo competitors, out-of-towners going to punk shows, etc...) took them out on the town, cooked them food, and opened our lives to them. It's just like priming a pump. Needless to say, my first couchSurfing experience was excellent, open-ended, gracious, and mutually appreciated because of the groundwork laid by hosting others first.
All subsequent couchsurfing and hosting experiences have been excellent! What a great tool for the open-minded traveler on a shoestring budget.
No such thing as 'strangers', only friends we have yet to meet.

Interests

Bicycles, Birds, Buds. Sustainable growth in all aspects of life, exploring mother Gaia, challenging the status quo, the mobile lifestyle, temperance & mindfulness
I like to play, fool around, and not take things so seriously.
Letting go.
Being myself, so others can be themselves around me.
Being the change I wish to see in the world :)
Living the Simple-life and loving its cliche-ness.
Learning how to make what I think, what I say, and what I do all the same.
I love asking the questions no one else bothers to ask, and doing things that most people say can't be done. There's too many rigid, controlled, calculated, and safe people in this life. So, I'm learning how to act on spontaneous feelings and intuitions, toss logic to the wind, believe in magic, lucidly dream, and eventually I will learn how to fly on my own wings ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

Much music from many cultures.

Books? There's so much out there to read. I'm reading all the time. I consistently try to read at least 3 books a month.
I appreciate non-fiction more than fiction. But fiction has its place too. My mind is currently being blown (over and over again) as I read the "Dancing Wu Li Masters". The last time this happened I was reading "The Intention Experiment".

I mostly stay away from TV and popular mainstream media shtuff.
I'm in love with Bollywood movies...actually I'm pretty much in love with everything from and about India.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived in a lighthouse and a tent on an island off the coast of Cape Cod without running water or electricity with 5 other people during a US Fish & Wildlife Service internship.

Relocating & riding from FL > CO on my 13 year old bicycle. Bicycling all over the USA: VA,MD,DC,PA,MA,NY,MO,AR,AL,GA,FL,MS,KS,CO,NM

Teach, Learn, Share

Let's trade or barter. Wanna explore and expand the idea of community? I'm curious about good coffee, wine, beer, bud, rum, and food. Please, share your knowledge with me.
I can give you tips & tricks on homesteading, cheesemaking, fermented foods, bread-making, baking anything, growing (just about anything), how to milk a goat, playing the clarinet, putting up a tipi, keeping bees, farming, gardening, birding, bicycle building/repair/maintenance, etc...
Be ready for a paradigm shift.
"Our language can only point fingers at the moon. The 'what is' does not stand still anymore than the 'now' has any meaning beyond the momentary flow of experience. Yet it is all we have and are." -Christian deQuincy
