À propos de moi

CURRENT MISSION

Spend more time with my wife

ABOUT ME

When I was younger, I traveled a lot with my family. During college I've done most of my traveling during spring break. In the summer of 2011, I lived and worked in Buduburam refugee settlement in Ghana. I've been to italy, and the year before it was germany, austria, hungary, and czech republic. i normally do at least one big snowboarding trip either out west or up north during the winter.

I am an avid snowboarder, and used to be a fairly competitive rider in my region, placing in many events, but now I feel my body needs it a little easier; so I compete less than I used to. I've actually taken this season off from snowboarding to work on other expensive hobbies (scuba and skydiving).

I used to be a bicycle mechanic. I had the best, lightest, fastest bikes. I've sold most of my bikes, due to lack of interest in riding (even since my knee injury) and lack of time.

Unlike most people, I love driving; winding country roads, interstates, city traffic, it doesn't matter..

Admittedly, I'm a little nerdy. I am very curious, I like to know why, how, what. I am an engineer, so I guess thats a good quality.

I live in Buffalo, NY. I moved here about a year ago, started a new job, met my Wife, married her in less than a year, and i'm buying a house and working on immigrating my wife currently. I used to live in West Virginia, but i was born in Wisconsin. Even though i live in a huge hunting state (WV) and community, i've never hunted or even shot a gun. (Edit: finally shot one, in Texas!)

i probably could have guessed that i'd be surfing some couches when i was little. i really love meeting new people and being new places. CS seems like a great idea that combines the two.

PHILOSOPHY

The past is history, the future is a mystery, but today is a gift, that's why they call it 'the present'

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love hosting, if i have time/resources, usually i try to cook a meal for my guests.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met my Wife and the love of my life through a Buffalo CS event.

I have spent the last 3 New Years Eves with Caglar, my very first CS host and my adopted older brother. I can't imagine anything other than NYE with him.

Centres d'intérêt

biking, snowboarding, jewelry making, intellectual talks, hiking, swimming, being outdoors, SCUBA diving, skydiving, just got into Jiu-jitsu (and out of it due to yet another shoulder dislocation) and into boxing.

tv: Community, Entourage, Walking Dead, The Inbetweeners

Movies: oceans 11 is good, both the original and the new one. the cohens brothers films are all good. (my dad went to hebrew school in minnesota with one of the cohen brothers)

I just recently started silver smithing, I was inspired by a man named Shano. His work was so beautiful, it just inspired me to start.

I should read more, sometimes I wonder how smart I would be if I read.
