Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted numerous people from all over in the last three years. Last year I traveled Europe for three months using only CS and '3 degrees of separation'

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted amazing humans from all corners of the world, from little german girls to that isreali dude that only stayed one night to the dutch-german-american flatmate i had for a month... every surfer is a new adventure:)

I like making lists of things I like, they make me happy in sad moments... So, I LIKE:

Sunshine, laughter, other people’s junk, vintage clothes, finding beauty in random places, my city, its people, my mountain, good coffee, fresh food, better wine, cheese, clean hands/feet, fresh laundry, good curry, finding money in my pocket, remembering the good times, your smile, my grandma’s rusks, driving to Malmes in the winter, newlands on a Saturday afternoon, ProoOOOooovince, reading things by people who KNOW how to write, editorials, signal hill, the flower market at the golden acre, friends with whom you can have comfortable silences, mountain missions, early morning walks, tall men, comfy shoes, dressing up, making pretty, details, things that work!, our stoep at Yzerfontein, solving the world’s problems over a cup of tea with K, quiet “undiscovered” beaches, vuvuzela’s (really!), destroying chaos, pretty pictures, sarcasm, writing notes on life.

As a writer at heart, I like to relate to good lyrics. I am the lyrics, you are the beat.
I have deep associations with the words/works of Aesop Rock, Bliss n Eso, Atmosphere, Bloc Party, Broke Kings, Eminem, Fokofpolisiekar, Heavens, Julian Plenti, Kasabian, The Killers, Mando Diao, Mos Def, Placebo, Sage Francis...

I like the music by CCR, The Darkness(never fails to get me dancing!), Kasabian, The Killers, MGMT, Muse, Placebo, Postal Service, Florence & the machine, Die Heuwels Fantasties... And the works of Danny Elfman for Tim Burton movies.

I live for books and can and will read ANYthing that crosses my eyes:)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveled Europe in the summer of 2012 for 89 days without paying for one night's accommodation. Generosity is greater than money!

In 2013 we built 3 rafts from junk we picked up on the streets of Barcelona. We then cruised down the Rio Ebro for a month on those rafts...
