About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Living the dream in Budapest

ABOUT ME

I take my camera everywhere. I love hats, but my head's too big for almost any of them. I love anything related to awesome home-cooked food but have a weak spot for late-night pizza and kabob. I travel as often as I can, but never seem to get enough.

PHILOSOPHY

Friends, fun, travel-in that order, though if they come in one package, all the better!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've surfed a bunch around the US and hosted a few of people who'd hosted me, moved to Budapest 4 years ago and used to host lots of people, but then I bought a flat, so life got serious for a while. But now the flat's mostly sorted out and I love showing people the city, so I'm back! I do have a full-time job and have to travel often, so I may not always be able to say yes, but I'll always give you an answer!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed all up the east coast of the US and into Canada-had awesome pizza in New Haven, vodka in Boston, Pho in Montreal and Thai in Toronto-who says good food has to come from its logical source?

Interests

Travel, photography, and any combination of the two. Gardening, learning random things, sharing random things, cooking, food, making beer/wine/absinthe, buying too many things online because I love getting packages. I frequently cook enormous meals and/or brew far too much beer but hate leftovers. Good job beer doesn't go off!

Music, Movies, and Books

Yes, yes, yes

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Just one? How about a couple... Red Square in Moscow, flying over wildfires in San Diego, Lake Bled in Slovenia at sunset, Ohrid city in Montenegro, mushroom picking in Siberia

Teach, Learn, Share

If it grows in/on/above the ground and you can eat it, I probably know something about how to grow, care for, cook, or preserve it. Or at least eat it!

What I Can Share with Hosts

This doesn't belong here, exactly, but I was having a chat with a friend about couchsurfing and she asked why I'm selective with who I host. I said lots of people are in it just to get a free bed and don't care at all about the community. I said probably get 10-15 requests a day in summer from people who obviously haven't read my profile and just 'me and my girlfriend want cheap bed'. She said he probably just wanted the d***. I said I'm not against my first threesome being with some random guy and his girlfriend, but she better be hot. And I'm not blowing him. Mostly joking, but not we'll see which of you actually read my profile now, won't we ;)
