About Me

Hi! I'm Meggan, a CS old-timer who is still looking for those lovely moments of sharing and connection that only travel can provide. As a guest, I'm respectful and tidy and always bring some sort of token of gratitude. As a host, I'm pretty hands-off, so it's best if you're the independent type.

I grew up in Georgia, moved to Jackson, Wyoming after college, then traveled for a couple years while volunteering on farms in exchange for room and board. I moved to Los Angeles in 2014 for performance-type stuff. . . and now I live in Atlanta with my hubby and do many random things built on the many random things I've done so far in life.

What I think my friends would say about me: Love food. Dark humor. ADHD. Either over-analyzing everything or not taking life seriously at all. I like to see and experience new things, but a day spent playing backgammon and drinking tea can also be perfect day!

PHILOSOPHY
"The idea is to remain in a state of constant departure while always arriving"

"happiness is a dog sunning itself on a rock. We're not put on this earth to be happy. We're here to experience great things"
(happiness doesn't hurt, though)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's important to promote travel and experience connection. We are all the same person! The only reason I can afford to travel as much as I do is because of couchsurfing, so it's truly an amazing thing. Other hosts have been so good to me in my life, so I try to contribute, pay it forward, and promote goodwill in the world!

When hosting or surfing I always try to cook a meal or share some good drinks together ...giving back counts, and I do appreciate when guests apply this rule to themselves:)

I better mention that I am a pretty hands-off host, even when I am at home with you, so if you come I hope you're happy to be your own entertainment and tour guide——no offense!

A lot of people request me who clearly do not read my profile--unless you show me you have done this, I will not respond--there are just too many requests!!

paraglided by Grand Teton National Park or all-night shaman experience in the Amazon?

Teach, Learn, Share

I think that everybody has something to teach, but sometimes it takes a while to figure out just what it is.

As for me, if I have anything to teach I'll modestly say that it probably would have to do mostly with good food or traveling.

I'd also love to practice Spanish and/or my very beginner-level Italian!

What I Can Share with Hosts

A meal! Drinks! A listening ear!
