About Me

Currently travelling around Mexico for 6 months! Usually using workaway - I did two months in a hostel in Puerta Vallarta, then three weeks in a commune in the jungle of chiapas, with Oaxaca next possibly.

ABOUT ME

Firstly, I'm pretty chill, but I do want to say from the outset: I'm pro-feminist, anti-racist, lgbtq+ positive, trans-friendly etc. If you are not ok with any of these, then we would probably not be a good match.

Like probably most people who use couchsurfing, I love travelling, coming across new cultures and people, and having high adventures. I have a fascination with life, the world, and human 'civilisation'. my studies of world history, international relations and politics have increased this fascination even more, and I like copmparing what I read in text books with what I experience on the ground level through my travels, to get the fullest possible picture of what the world is like in the first half of the 21st century.

PHILOSOPHY

"First is the danger of futility; the belief there is nothing one man or one woman can do against the enormous array of the world's ills -- against misery, against ignorance, or injustice and violence... Few will have the greatness to bend history; but each of us can work to change a small portion of the events, and in the total of all these acts will be written the history of this generation... It is from numberless diverse acts of courage such as these that the belief that human history is thus shaped. Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance."

-Robert F Kennedy 1966

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

By hosting (when I can) and surfing, but mostly by taking part in and sometimes organizing cs events.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted about 10 people from around the world when I was living in Belfast, I've surfed around 5 times, and I've taken part in more CS events than I can remember (organised a few myself as well). Really looking forward to when I can start hosting again.

Interests

Love board games, socialism and trade unionis, lgbtq+ activism, and electronic music club nights/ raves.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had a cup of coffee yesterday afternoon, at around 1pm, at roughly the midway point between my breakfast and my lunch, that was pretty amazing...and it was instant coffee too! It is imperative that we learn how to wean the full value out of life's small pleasures!

Teach, Learn, Share

can show you some board games that will blow you're mind, if you're not already into the hobby
