About Me

I am currently 25 years old and it's the second time in my life that I decide to pick up my things and head out the door to see the vast Everywhere Else.
I studied to be a simultaneous interpreter because languages are my passion and I thoroughly enjoy discovering other cultures through their own tongue.
I am also seldom seen without an instrument on my back and a couple of trainers strapped to my travelling bag.
I like being out of my comfort zone as much as possible, and I misspell the word "comfort" every single time (I had to go back a bit as I wrote "confort", as always). *sigh*

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

There's no better way to see and place for what it really has to offer than doing so at the side of a local. I know a lot of interesting nooks and crannies in the places I've lived in, and I show them to anyone who comes visit--so I'd quite like to see yours, future Couchsurfing host! All of the experiences that I live are going into a travelling journal that will be read by my children, and hopefully their children after that, and I'd like to keep those experiences coming and piling up in my good memories.

Interests

I am really into music, so I will bring out the guitar as often as possible (although I have still managed to keep it not-douchey at parties). I really enjoy busking everywhere I go, as it allows me to meet all kinds of people and, also, it allows me to do some people-watching! I think everyone is at their most interesting when they are not conscious of anyone looking their way, and when I play on the street I become a part of their urban scenery. People's reactions to their surrounding world and to the music when they hear it is quite a good thing to spend your day doing. It's almost as if you get to know a bit of their story.

I do some parkour, and I really enjoy cooking as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Folk and pop are my favourites (seeing that it's what I normally play to earn my bread and butter), but my taste is very eclectic, ranging from classical music to jazz to some Mexican folklore stuff of the kind that no one really likes but they still know the lyrics to.

Movies: Interstellar, Indiana Jones, The Silence of the Lambs, Whiplash, Once.
Series: Breaking Bad, Scrubs, House, Vikings, Supernatural.

Books: Jules Verne's work. The Name of the Wind, by Patrick Rothfuss.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once pretended to be Irish for a week and a half to impress a girl that I really liked and I somehow succeeded. The accent stuck after that.

I swam in the freezing ocean waters in Exmouth, England, for Christmas Day. I was wearing nothing but my trunks and a beanie. I then discovered that Mexicans can actually handle cold temperatures without bitching and moaning... For about thirty seconds.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am also a teacher of Spanish and French, so I can definitely help with that. I can teach you the intriguing ways of Latino social mingling and I can show you how to cook delicious Mexican recipes.
I can absolutely teach you how to play the guitar or the tin whistle, which are the instruments that I carry with me. Let's have some good musical craic. :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my culture, my language, and everything that I could teach you. I can share stories with you and I can lend an attentive ear to yours.

Aside from that (and on a more useful note), I can cook for the nights that I stay with you, I can help clean the place, I can help you with your homework. If there's something that you need that I could give you a hand with, I'm up for it.
