ABOUT ME

Hi! I'm a music loving, drum playing, dancing, camping, biking, hard working, fun loving person. I love meeting amazing new people or hanging out with old friends, and always having intense conversations about society, nature, spirituality, science, and anything new and interesting. I'm curious by nature, open minded but something of a skeptic, and willing to try anything twice!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I generally host surfers, because I have too many commitments right now to travel, though I get out and about whenever I can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've couchsurfed around the US a hand full of times while traveling, but mostly I've hosted people a lot while living in Northern California for several years.

Interests

Nature, hiking, camping, rock climbing, drumming (especially african/afrocuban/multicultural), juggling, dancing, speaking spanish, working with my hands and living a low impact life, loving every minute.

Music: Samba - Ile Aiye, Olodum, Monobloco, Timbalada. Swing - Chick Webb, Count Basie, Benny Goodman. Bossa Nova, Joao Gilberto. Frank Sinatra. Medicine for the People, Fela Kuti, Afromassive, SambAmore, Devil Makes Three, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin. Shakti.

Favorite authors: Edward Abbey, Thoreau, Herman Hesse. I also like reading about economics, cooperatives, and anarchism.

Don't watch movies or TV a lot, but I like foreign films and old films.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've drummed in a bunch of fun samba parades across the Pacific Northwest. Hoping to play in Brasil some time.

Teach, Learn, Share

I LOVE swing dancing - shag, Lindy hop, Charleston, Balboa, (and yes, blues). I also love to teach others swing dancing, and to take people out swing dancing with me when I travel. If you've never been swing dancing in your own city, let's go!!

I know a bit about natural building, especially with cob. Also about bicycle powered appliances. I'm also pretty good at teaching people how to juggle.
