ABOUT ME

I studied history and then law. Following law school I needed a change and moved to Manitoulin Island for 2 years. Before Manitoulin I lived in and around Toronto for most of my life. Moving from city to extremely rural was quite the experience. I moved off Manitoulin Island to be closer to civilization. I know live and practice law in Bracebridge. I love working and living close to the water. It means no rush hour and more time relaxing by the water with a cold beverage.

I have traveled frequently over the past couple years and hope to continue it regularly. Currently the pattern has been, hot country in the winter and 'colder' place in the summer.

When traveling in cities, I love to visit craft breweries. In Ontario we have a small craft brewers association that is taking on the big box beers. I love to support the local breweries and try new/interesting beers.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I enjoy hosting people from different countries. Since joining CSing, I have had terrific guests. I surfed in St. Maarten and had a wonderful experience. My couchsurfing trip to Newfoundland was amazing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed in Iceland. It was terrific, very gracious host that left his door open to us even late into the night. This was the first time I surfed rather than hosted. I was thrilled at the hospitality of others.

I have numerous couchsurfers stay with me in Manitoulin. They have all been fun and interesting. Most are cycling through and stay for dinner, a good conversation and a comfy bed.

I am now in Muskoka and hosted a few people since. I really enjoy meeting new people.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to mostly all sub-genres of Rock. From Metal to Psychedelic.
I seem to be pickup and reading bits of three or four books right now.
Movies - I love comedies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Iceland natural hot springs at midnight in June. The sun never set, but never really came out. The day was long, but the night was perfect with the hot water, cold beer and amazing person with me.

I know far too much about the history of Germany. I love learning with every experience. I love sharing the Canadian culture and my home with CS'ers
