About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To follow my heart wherever it takes me on this adventure called life!

ABOUT ME

I am fun, down to earth, adventurous, passionate about life and love to make a difference. I have packed up my life in Australia and am now travelling indefinitely as I pursue my dream of world peace ;-)

I have been working and volunteering in India and Kenya over the last few years in peace building, training and transformational work. I believe every culture has a lot to teach human beings and I am excited to be learning from my experiences.

You may have guessed that I am an idealist. I think there have to be better ways for people to deal with differences than by killing each other. I am also a realist and know war will continue irrespective of many people's efforts for peace, but it will always be a worthwhile thing to pursue options for peace.

My journey is also an internal one. I love to learn from other cultures and living the conventional life of settling down with a house, stable job and children has never brought me peace. Letting go of the mainstream dream and going on this journey feels solid and true in a liberating way. I believe that to follow your passion wherever it takes you is the most sure path in life.

PHILOSOPHY

Studied Buddhist Philosophy, Islamic History, Ethics of nonviolence (a lot of Gandhi's writings which are super inspiring). I believe that the way we think defines our experience in life and how we view others, so it is important to pay attention to it!!

My philosophy is that anything is possible, and each one of us has an opportunity to contribute something incredible to humanity, no matter how big or small. I believe in taking action, so don't just waffle about what you want to do, DO IT.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

with enthusiasm.

I have been surfing and hosting, and am loving it. I am always impressed with the quality of people who I meet. Intelligent, considerate, articulate, fun...

I like to help out in any way I can when I stay with people so if you need help with something let me know.

When surfing with me, the guidelines for a happy stay:

Clean up after yourself as you go
Offer to help out if anything needs doing (it is pretty low maintenance so that won't be much)
Don't sit in front of the TV all day or all night (I hate the TV on unless watching a specific show)
Use the kitchen just keep it clean
Ask if you want anything - don't be shy

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have loved couch surfing. Thank you to everyone who I have met so far.

Interests

Moved to Tasmania for its beautiful wilderness and sense of community. Love going bushwalking/hiking, dancing (salsa, ballroom, 5Rhythms, and anything I can dance to), going out, hanging with friends etc...

After nearly 10 years in Tasmania it is time to spread my wings and live in the international community. I have been working and volunteering overseas and love it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Love anything I can dance to (re music).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went Iceclimbing in Alaska (I love Alaska).

Teach, Learn, Share

learning about culture, peacebuilding, life coaching, what motivates people, and how to build resilient communities. Also share my passion for dancing

Would love to learn Tango dancing, more about culture change processes and ideas, about what is important in different cultures.

Can offer/teach community development processes, life coaching, project innovation and living your passion.

For some reason I seem to have taught a lot of couchsurfers basic salsa dancing, which is fun, but I am no expert!

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Canada, Fiji, France, India, Kenya, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, New Zealand, Singapore, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States
