Overview
About Me
Hey everyone! My name is Fiona. I used to go by Katie/Kat. I decided to give myself a new name that I felt fit me better. So hopefully that doesn't confuse you!
My heart ticks for all things simple, natural, and philanthropic. My passion is in psychology, community building, social justice, genuine writing from the soul, sustainable & clean food, dancing, the body, and alternative health. I love to be a part of all things that bring people together across differences and build a thriving community. I'm a thirsty learner, yet teacher at heart.
A quote I love:
"What if our religion was each other
If our practice was our life
If prayer, our words
What if the temple was the Earth
If forests were our church
If holy water- the rivers, lakes and ocean
What if meditation was our relationships
If the teacher was life
If wisdom was self-knowledge
If love was the center of our being."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am on Couchsurfing because community is super important to me. I think that we live in a time where technology breaks down genuine and deep interactions between people. I love putting the technology away and returning to the simplicity of human connection: conversation, laughter, food, dancing, walking, hiking, etc.
I love to meet locals as that is real community. And I love hosting people who want to learn and grow from one another.

Music, Movies, and Books
Currently I have been reading a lot of books on economics, environmentalism, social justice, learning, and psychology but I also love fantasy!
I rarely watch TV. Don't have one!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent one month backpacking throughout Australia by myself when I was 18. It offered me a lot of time to reflect on my life and see how I respond to being totally alone.
