About Me

CURRENT MISSION
Contributing to a better world

ABOUT ME
I guess I am friendly, empathic and try to help whenever I can. I enjoy real discussions but I am bad in small talk, although it is also a useful skill I maybe should improve.

I volunteered in Honduras as an English teacher, surely not a very pleasant time, but it taught me a lot and changed me and my view of what really matters.
One force that drives me is the wish to better the world somehow. I am sure CS is one key.

PHILOSOPHY

Treat others as you would like to be treated.

Be the change you want to see in the world

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Surfing and hosting(well I am eager to host, but there is not many people coming to Cottbus).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A wonderful idea that makes the world a better place

Interests

I love to get to know different cultures from a different view, from behind the scenery. Thats why I love hitchhiking and couchsurfing (one of the best features Internet has developed). And that is the reason why I try to continuously learn new languages.

Besides that I love cooking (especially for others, as cooking just for my own is boring), and try out new dishes, which is for me one of the most important cultural features. I enjoy sports and any kind of games.

Recently I got more and more interested in sociology, psychology, neurobiology and evolutionary biology.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking through Yosemity, getting in touch with this awe-inspiring nature, combined with exhaustion and hunger after three days of bad food management became an almost religous (or what you call it) experience showing me the love for nature.

Climbing down a stone wall without any safety gear, a stone hit my shoulder almost making me fall. I know that if this stone would have hit my head I would not write these lines. Never had such a feeling of gratefulness for life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I generally love languages and the interesting thing is that by teaching them you learn more about them, so I am happy to both teach and learn (right now especially Russian). I am generally interested in sports, especially outside, and can teach you swimming. Juggling: I can teach to juggle with three balls and would like to learn it with four :) And finally I love food and learn how to prepare it, I can show you some German recipes. Bon Appetite
