About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Smile with the happy, weep with the sad.

ABOUT ME

Unless you have met me in person, any impression of me based on my words is probably biased. I can be quite different from time to time. But I will still put down something in this column. I am curious about the world and passionate about my life. Growing up in a capitalistic big city somehow had made me a cynical kid. I used to hate human activities and I loved the wild nature. An exchange year in Europe has been my life-changing experience. Not only have I become more independent, but I have also learned how to take better care of people around me. Adventurousness has always been in my blood and sometimes I could be a little reckless. Enjoyable life should be ever-changing. One day I read in a cozy cafe and shut the door to all the buzz of the city and the other day I drink and dine with my best friends, or strangers. I enjoy munching on scones on my own watching TV as much as heading out for socials. I like people telling me about politics and world issues and artistic people can always get my attention. Life is too short and I know too little so I'd say carpe diem is the best cliche in the world.

PHILOSOPHY

Be like water :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I really like the idea of CS in terms of cultural exchange and linking up travelers. I always try to surf when I travel so to get to know the locals more. And I like hosting and showing people around too because I want to give something back to this community and to rediscover my home city with my guests.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted one Polish, two Germans, one Swedish, two Chinese, two Canadians and one American when I lived in Berlin. I have hosted a German, a Vietnamese, a Swedish couple, a British, two Austrians, an American and a Brazilian since I moved back to Hong Kong. I have surfed a couch in Budapest, Vienna, Krakow, Warsaw, Bordeaux, Nice, Geneva, Baden-Baden, San Sebastian, Orio, Madrid, Cologne, Stockholm, Oslo, Dublin, Edinburgh, Barcelona, Lisbon, Iceland and Slovenia.

Interests

I like swimming and going to the beach. Being in water makes me feel safe and calm. Pity it's too cold in Sheffield to do any water sports...so I've started Jiu Jitsu! I like learning languages and I love reading. I also enjoy watching movies, musicals, opera and theatre play. The best way to spend a holiday other than travelling would be going to a coffee place with books or watching movies all day.I love food and I have a sweet tooth. I enjoy volunteering and meeting new people too :)
