About Me

Hi from Japan!
I moved back to Japan for half a year, before I was living in Saudi Arabia for my PhD research and soon (July 2016) I will be moving to Portugal for a year. I want to learn the language and culture while I am there and meet different people to experience new things with!

LOVE to laugh, travel, cook, bake, eat, dance, hike, camp, snorkel, diving, star gazing, play catch, pictionary, birds, snuggle, movies, charades, beer, really sweet milk tea, feijoa, green gooseberries, whole milk, yoga, and disneyland.

SCARED of heights (but really enjoyed the one time I skydived), cockroaches, needles, and some babies and toddlers.

Sayings I like,
Love the little moments in life.
Celebrate what you want to see more of.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel and would love to meet people along the way.
I'm also moving to Portugal from Japan this summer (2016) and would like to make new friends there.
I had a great time meeting people on couchsurfing and showing them around Wellington, New Zealand, while I lived there.

Interests

Im interested in outdoor activities like trekking trips, camping by beaches, parties with bonfires, and snorkeling. I want to try new things in Portugal like learning to cook the local cuisine, water sports (perhaps surfing?), and visiting the national parks in the country.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies
Die Hard, all four of them
Little Miss Sunshine
Intouchables
Serendipity
When Harry met Sally
Love Actually

Recently I enjoy detective novels (like Higashino Keigo)
and suspenseful ones! (like Gone Girl and The girl on the train)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Habitat for Humanity trip to Fiji in high school. It was my very first life changing experience.

I loved the trip to Sri Lanka. It was my favorite trip in 2015. The food and culture in Galle Port was delightful, and the wildlife and safari in the Yala National Park region was just breathtaking. The water buffalo milk curd with local tree sap is to die for.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to cook food and can obviously share my favorite Japanese and some American dishes.

I can share with people my to die for food list in the places I've visited so they can visit them for their future trips!
