CURRENT MISSION

To become a member of the Travelers Century Club - this is a real club whose members have visited 100+ countries in the world. It is my lifetime ambition to join this club.

ABOUT ME

I love traveling. It's my hobby and passion. I am really glad to have found CouchSurfing as I think this will be a great community. Although my parents are originally from India, I was born and raised in the US. I completed all my education in US, but have lived and worked in Sweden, Japan and Spain. I like to take 2-3 overseas trips a year.

I also love hosting. Due to my travels and my international roommates, I have many global friends. They all stay on my couch, which is actually a pull-out bed, so it is a bit more comfortable than a couch and can accommodate 2 people easily.

Other than traveling, I love wine, tennis, games, puzzles, beer, culture, dance, sports, politics, geo-politics, economics/business, cinema/film. Mind you I am either a participant or a fan/viewer.

Of course with many interests, I don't do any of them really well, "A jack of all trades, master of none."

PHILOSOPHY

I do not live to work, but work to live. I want to travel and have unique experiences in my life. I don't want to work at the same job for my whole life. I have and plan on having mini-retirements through my life. During these times, I hope to travel and move to other countries. I love my family and will take care of them, especially as my parents get older.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've just submitted to be verified, so I have donated some money to the cause of Couch Surfing. As I am new to the community, I don't know all of the ways in which I can communicate.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This is my first time on CS. I just registered and also have contributed to be verified. I am very much looking for my first CS experience. I am traveling to South Africa on November 19-30, 2010. If any of you have couches please let me know. Also, if anyone has any ideas for wacky, unique experiences, let me know. I am traveling alone and have 12 days to experience the best of South Africa.

Interesses

I already mentioned this above..but here it goes again:
Other than traveling, I love wine, tennis, games, puzzles, beer, culture, dance, sports, politics, geo-politics, economics/business, cinema/film. Mind you I am either a participant or a fan/viewer.

There is almost nothing in which I am not interested...I love to chat and experience life through conversation. As you can tell, I also like typing much as well.

I watch a movie in the cinema about 1x every 2 months. I listen to the radio in my automobile only. I read a few books a year, but mainly magazines and newspapers (online)

I can teach about the internet industry. If anyone wants to know about the business of the internet, I can explain that. I have some language knowledge and cultural knowledge about the US and India. I look forward to both learning and teaching within the community.
