About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Keep traveling. Get inspired and keep inspiring.

ABOUT ME

There are no strangers in this world. Only friends you haven't yet met. 'William Butler Yeats'

Basically that's what I'm doing now. To meet you - all my friends I haven't yet met, all over the world.

PHILOSOPHY

Learn, Respect, Dream/ Hope, Faith, Love. Never stop LEARNING, RESPECT others (and yourself), DREAM big, have FAITH and LOVE everything.

I believe life is a learning process. The only time we stop learning is when we stop breathing. We can learn from anything, and by saying anything, it means literally every single little thing. Good things, bad things, both are essential to life. Depend on how you see it. So, stay positive, and believe, everything happens for a reason.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surf, I couch, I travel, I... do what I can do.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

What I enjoy the most is when I stay and mingle with the locals. I'd really love to know and experience myself what kind of life they live, see what they see, hear what they hear, feel what they feel, with a total different background and culture. By getting a better understanding of it, I believe we'd be able to live in a good harmony.

Interests

Traveling, photography, music, nature - mountain, beach, sea, sky, sands, cloud, and of course my old friend rain, outdoor activity - hike and dive, some sports - table tennis and squash, meeting new people, making new friends, smile & laugh, art, cooking, etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to most genre of music. Hardcore and black metal underground are some of my exceptions. I still enjoy rocks, but screaming and screaming only? I really can't get it. I enjoy jazz and classic. Chill, deep house and lounge music. Trance and even dub step. I listen to brit music, indie music and some other weird and deppressive stuff. Quite random I'd say. From Sigur Ros to Tracy Chapman, Nat King Cole to Kings of Leon, from Josh Groban to Damien Rice, Arctic Monkeys and Temper Trap, Nina Simone and Eden Ahbez, Feist to The XX, Vishvesh and AR Rahman, Amy Winehouse to Lykke Li and Calvin Harris. Now you know why I said random.

Movies, I enjoy thriller the most. Rush my adrenaline which I believe is good for my heart. I also enjoy good twist in a movie. Animation, comedy and true story. Saw 1 is my favorite, tho I watched the whole series. Alfie, Fight Club, Up, Wall-E, Y Tu Mama Tambien, and some titles even myself can't remember anymore.

Books, Paulo Coelho is my best fave writer so far. But I also enjoy fantasy, sci-fi, history, kids books and again, true story. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time by Mark Haddon is on my top list.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been amazed by lotsa places I've visited. The beauty of Krakatoa Mt's eruption, the misty Bromo Mt, the great Toba Lake, underwater scene of Banda, and many more! They all are worth visited. But more to it, meeting people, doesn't matter if they're locals of other travellers, hearing their inspiring stories always amaze me more.

Being invited into a cockpit by a flight attendant and pilot to enjoy the beauty of the islands around eastern part of Indonesia, losing all my money during my travel, few seconds of fame in Philippine's national TV, free trip to Great Wall of China, free travel to Antarctica, got to live on Easter Island, and basically, what I'm doing now, how to survive to travel around the world with a very very very very limited amount of money (close to zero) with me. Well, the universe casts its' spell on me, I survive! :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some Indonesian words, or even if you want to learn the whole language.
I wouldn't mind to be your conversation partner in English if you're not a native speaker and want to practice it more.
I can teach you how to cook some Indonesian food.
I know some basic photography skill that I wouldn't mind to share.
If you're into basic photo editing, I'd also like to share what I know.

I'd love to learn how to drive (yes, it's embarrassing I know, but I don't drive. lol)
I want to learn International Sign Language.
I'd like to learn how to play harmonica.
And if you're into cooking, I'd love to learn how to cook one or two of your local specialties.
