Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've hosted 10 or so times and never had a bad experience! My former band went on tour in 2011 and couch-surfed ~30 nights all over the eastern US. It was amazing.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books - I go through phases... everything from philosophy books (Dostoevsky and the like) to music, to Science (I teach college geology classes, so I do a lot of reading about geology, etc., during the semester).

Music - Wow, it's hard to sum this up. My favorite genera is probably grungy 90s music, but I like a little of everything. As far as my former band, we played a mix of bluesey alternative rock. A few favorite bands - Frank Zappa, Zeppelin, Modest Mouse, Alice in Chains, Black Keys.

Movie - Waking Life and the Big Lebowski

TV Shows - I like low-budget films and documentaries, but as far as the more mainstream stuff: Lost, Breaking Bad, Dexter, Walking Dead. I just finished Jericho, The Killing, and OITNB (very good!). I also like The Big Bang Theory, but it's very different than the above, lol.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

As far as cool/fun stuff, produced 2 full-length CDs and went on a tour 2011 summer with my band, and couch-surfed the entire time. August of 2012, my friend and I arranged a successful music festival.

School stuff - finished my PhD in 2015!
