About Me

NOTICE 1. Please send me a proper request, not a message. Saves me a lot of time. I reply to the requests first.

NOTICE 2. Unfortunately I'm receiving a lot of requests from people who see Couchsurfing as a free hotel service. To me it's about sharing and communicating, so please take time to read my profile and write something personal in your request, especially if you don't have references yet (for example who you are, why you are traveling to Moscow, why we are going to have a good time together). Thanks!
---
Brief history: born and raised near Ural mountains, run away to Moscow and then to Paris for studies. Started professional life in Sweden and came back to my snowy Motherland (to be continued).
---
I'm PhD student (psychology) and career consultant at a major Russian university called Higher School of Economics. I'm studying the phenomenon of calling and helping students to get their ideal job. I'm also a life and career coach. I love my work and studies, they make me feel fulfilled and happy, even though they take a lot of time :)
I enjoy traveling of course, going to new places in Russia and abroad. I love to get lost in the city streets and stumble upon some cool place, or to go hiking in the middle of nowhere. To me traveling is also therapeutic, helping me better than anything to recharge and go on with my life.
Traveling also became for me more about people than places. Almost all the best memories come from the encounters with amazing people whom I was lucky to meet (many of them on CS) and make friends with. I enjoy listening to life stories and share mine because it's infinitely more interesting than anything you can read in books or see in movies.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to meet people who are open, well-travelled, sociable and ready to share. I'm also curious to see how people live in different countries. And I want to give back to the community (pay-it-forward: people help me when I'm traveling, and I help people who travel to my country in return).

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC. I like rock music (Queen is my favourite band since my childhood) and trance (fell in love with Armin Van Buuren after going to his gig in Ibiza).
MOVIES. I don't have any particular preferences, but I avoid horror movies (scary) and romantic comedies (mostly dumb).
BOOKS. I read mostly professional literature (psychology) but occasionally pick Russian classics (Tolstoy and Nabokov are my favourites), science fiction (mostly Asimov) and J.R.R. Tolkien.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Walking around Buddhist stupa on Ogoi Island with pink sand, lake Baikal, Russia
- Getting to the top of Burj Khalifa skyscraper in Dubai at sunset
- Witnessing India-Pakistan Wagah border closing ceremony
- Getting lost in the forest and spending a night at a farmer's house with no electricity in Nepal
- Participating in Hamilton Island regatta in Australia with my dad
- Walking through an orange corridor of torii at Fushimi Inari Taisha, Japan
- Seeing the Yanar Dag, natural gas fire that blazes from the rock and never dies out in Azerbaijan
- Going to the Western Wall in Jerusalem at Sabbath
- Catching northern lights in Murmansk, Russia

Teach, Learn, Share

- Basic Russian vocab to survive in Russia
- History of Russian drinking traditions (I worked as a guide in Russian Vodka Museum one summer, crazy college time, haha)

What I Can Share with Hosts

- Anything you want to know about Russia and Moscow (our culture and way of living, non-tourist places, transportation and so on)
- If I have a free evening we can also have a Chinese tea ceremony. It's a meditative process, very good to accompany conversations. Btw, if you happen to come from China, please bring some tea (any) with you, I would be very pleased!
