About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learning italian and romanian

ABOUT ME

I love to meet new people and see new places. I love to sing altough I'm not good at it. I love classic rock, jazz, blues, 80s pop and a lot more different kinds of music. I love reading books and I write a little myself. Most of all I love my friends.

Lately I spent most of my free time learning graphic design and Russian. I hope I can someday draw as good as those people on Youtube ;-)

PHILOSOPHY

Hm... lately progress has become a very important topic for me. I'm not talking about progress in your job, altough this can be part of what I mean. It's more about not hitting a standstill in your life, not doing the same over and over again, always trying to learn no stuff.

E.g. I hate it when people in theire mid-twenties say: "I would have loved to learn to play the guitar, but now I guess now it's too late for me..." I'm convinced that there are (almost) no things that are impossible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Music, Movies, and Books

Puh... a lot!
The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, ELO, ... lately I've been very much into all different kinds of Jazz Music (Louis Armstrong, Patricia Barber, Herbie Hancock, to name a few...) and Chansons (Gilbert Becaud, Yves Montand, Jacques Brel,...)
many, many more...

Books: also a lot, few recent authors maybe: Khaled Hosseini, Niccolo Ammaniti, Yasmina Khadra,...

Movies: goes easier with naming directors, I guess...
Alejandro González Iñárritu, Fernando Meirelles, Ridley Scott, Christopher Nolan, James Cameron, J.J. Abrams, and on and on...
But my all time favorites will always be Shawshank Redemption and, of course, The Lion King!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

First night ever in Bangkok (my first trip to Asia at all). Everything just felt so alien and new it was totally awesome. That was the moment I really fell in love with travelling.

Teach, Learn, Share

Hmm... I can teach people a lot of song lyrics, don't know why but it's really easy for me to remember text once it comes along with melody.
I can cook a quite good (and quite spicy) Chili con Carne, and I also consider myself an Omlette-expert ;-)
I think I would also be a very patient (but strict) german teacher if anybody should need one...

Countries I’ve Visited

Brazil, Bulgaria, Colombia, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Panama, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, Viet Nam
