About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Henry David Thoreau said : "I went into the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived."
That sums up pretty much how I try to live these days, live freely, deliberatly, learn, and make the most of it.

ABOUT ME

I'm an easy going guy, quiet, and respectful.
I'm quite an active person but also like to be lazy, not too long though I get bored quickly, always up for doing anything that could be interesting.
I can be very silent sometimes, it doesn't mean I'm moody or I have a problem with you it's just that talking for the sake of talking is something I don't do, if I have nothing interesting to say I simply don't talk. Sometimes silence is enough :)
Don't worry I can also be talkative, I'm always up for an interesting conversation :)
can be funny, even on myself...
Actually this section is boring, what are words to describe someone ? not enough for sure, you'll see if we meet :)

PHILOSOPHY

Self inquiry is the way, and for me the only one. Watch your thoughts, understand them, see where they come from is, to me today, the key to many doors.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been using couchsurfing as a traveler for many years, now I've stopped traveling and settled in Scotland it's time to give back to the community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

For the past 7 years I've been hosted in almost all the countries I crossed on my trip from France to Thailand and beyond, it's funny to see how people see hosting very differently in different cultures, it has always been a good experience.
I've seen sometimes people hosted with me in the same house taking advantage of the host's generosity without even feeling bad about it, that's a shame and that won't happen with me, as a host or a guest.

Interests

I used to read a lot, especially books that have something to teach, the only problem with books is that it's so heavy in a backpack :)
I used to be a Chef between two trips, so i'm not so bad at cooking, and I really like doing it. So of course I like eating :) Been vegetarian for years to fight on my level against animal abuse and suffering, the next step was to turn vegan which I did 2 years ago.
Above all I love to go in the unknown nature with a tent, to get lost in mountains or on a deserted beach with only the nature and a good friend, feeling the calm of nature is something very inspiring and relaxing. bought a kayak last year to wander around the lakes of scotland, that's hiking taken to the next level, it's amazing!
Really fond of music, I always have a melody in my head, can't play any instruments unfortunately. I used to attend to music festivals, as a volunteer or not, it makes me fly.
I enjoy juggling, with balls at the moment, I'd love to improve with clubs.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Bought a $100 bicycle in Beijing and hit the road on my own, without training whatsoever, with zero notion of Chinese and kept pedaling for 7 months.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach french, english (to the worst english speaker maybe), juggling, how to mix what you have in your fridge in a very edible dish, whatever diet you're on. As I try to be careful of what I eat I know a bit about food in general, additives, chemicals, taste enhancers, what the body needs and doesn't so I guess I could teach that.
I can fix your computer, help for your website and explain you why this f***** machine refuses to start.
I want, and need to learn permaculture, how to be self sufficient, how to build my house, live without waste and in care of the nature, because whatever turn my life takes I'll be doing these kind of things when my travelling fever will stop.
Learning didjeridoo on my free time.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A nice meal, a nice conversation, tips, advices, whatever actually. Use the kitchen and bathroom at will, you won't find any meat in the house, don't mind if there is some around but I won't be sharing your meal :)
