About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Discover more about couch surfing people, is this for me?

ABOUT ME

I'm an American Expat, I live in China to experience first hand the culture(s) and build personal relationships with people of different cultures (beyond just the Chinese people). I also have many American friends in China, but, have very few concerns about the politics of the west. My life is in China now.

My Chinese language skills are limited to basic survival skills, I can order food, pay the bill and shop. Other than that, I need to ask for help.

PHILOSOPHY

What comes around goes around. You have to give to the universe before it comes back to you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have no idea how I participate! That's my mission right now, to figure it out. I have visions in my head about being able to travel the world, hopping from one couch to another, but, I feel that I should start out, by offering my Couch. I'm a giver, not a taker.

Interests

I like playing games (cards, Mahjong, etc), and other activities like bowling, billiards, pingpong. Not because I'm particularly excited about one activity or the other, but, because I like the conversation that happens. Needless to say, I don't enjoy the activities by myself.
I'm frequently the organizer trying to wrangle people together for some type of activity, and to get "the willing" off their couches

Music, Movies, and Books

All-time favorite movie was Gandhi. I admire his spirit and what he fought for. In hind site however, I'm not sure that what he did for India was overall positive. Discussion?
Oh yeah, I like dumb and dumber too, life is not all serious or games. Mix it up!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Amazing, no, I don't think anything I've done in my life is amazing. The closest think that I can come up with is about a year ago, I shoved my belongings into a storage locker, packed my bags, and traveled to China, to live there for a little more than a year.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well I'm a computer nerd by profession, and I've got basic China survival skills. I'm a native English speaker, so I can offer conversational English sessions.
