ABOUT ME

We are a couple, itching to travel, passionate about science and in love with nature. We are curious and we love to laugh, read, cook and camp in the wilderness.

We are both biologists and we left our jobs to hitchhike the world and meet new people. We travel to grow as new persons, to broaden our minds, to fight stereotypes, and to see as many things as possible.

During this trip we are carrying out an environmental education and scientific popularization project on the theme of soil.

Despite everything it provides us with, soil is generally misused. The realization of its destruction and the consequent risks is quite recent.
We would like to use our trip to make an inventory of this realization by meeting those who interact with soil, farmers, scientists, gardeners and so on. We will seek to share their vision of soil and its future through a series of portraits and articles published on our blog.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far we hosted only once, but since last april, we have been almost only couchsurfing and camping. We slept in an old factory, we had luxury couches, we slept in extremly tiny flats, in old traditional houses, or on futon,... only great experiences! It's also a good way to see how are houses in others country and experience people's lifestyle. The best way to meet intersting people and make new experiences!

Music, Movies, and Books

We both love music, movies and books.

For music we mainly listen to rock'n'roll, punk and alternative musics. We like 50's to 70's rock (johnny cash, jerry lee lewis, elvis, wanda jackson, cream, jefferson aiplanes, mc five, the velvet underground, the fuges, black sabbath, the ramones, woodie guthry, sex pistols, rolling stones, the doors, pink floyd, the who...), and we listen also to more recent punk and metal bands (René Binamé, the klingklongz, GBH, Exploited, Sepultura, Nashville Pussy, Black Cobra, YOB, Nofx, The Demented are Go, the dead kennedys, Dexter Romweber), World (Ska Cubano, Los Kjarkas, Youssou N'dour, Lhassa), hip hop (Jedy Mind Trick, AOTP, Gazoline), anarchists french singers (Brel, Renaud, Brassens).
And we are open to any new sound!

Books : some of our favourite authors are Steinbeck, Haruki Murakami, Philip. K. Dick, John Irving, Daniel Pennac, Dan Simmons, and so many more, its hard to be exhaustive :) We travel with a complete library...

And movies: we like horror movies (especially Gaëtan!), Cohen brother's, Animation (japanese or Disney). Myazaki (Princess Monoke, Nausicaa <3) and asian cinema in general, bad movies, classic movies, and sometimes even blockbusters...
Sadly lately we don't have lot of time to watch movies, so we are always happy to watch one! (makes us happy, give us movie (any kind) and pop corn!)

Teach, Learn, Share

We are eager to learn and discover many things! As said above we are willing to learn what people think of soil. But we hope that this will open us doors to other opportunities. Farming, environmental protection, gardening, outdoor activities, hiking, and how people party all over the world!

Oh, and we love cooking and discover new ingredients.

We can make you discover about our culture, french language, and also we can share our secret reciepes as we both love cooking.
