About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To write references that better the capture the magic of couch surfing

ABOUT ME

Easy going, love to travel and meet new people. Great sense of the world, its history, economics etc

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is to treat others I would want to be treated.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host a lot of couch surfers. I have toned it down a bit, but I have hosted as many as 4 at a time. It has been a great experience. I am planning on doing some traveling later this year.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Okay, so it is official. As of 28 July 2014 I have now hosted 200 Couch Surfers.
I have lots of good things to say about the whole couch surfing community and my experiences.

Interests

I like to dance west coast swing, east coast swing and Salsa. I also really enjoy going out to see rockabilly bands

I am a big history buff, when I travel I love visit museums, areas of historical interest. You could take me to an old fort and I could get lost for hours.

Another thing I love is trading; however, I come from a totally different perspective. I come from the place that you do not actually trade the market, rather you trade your beliefs in the market.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love great documentaries. I enjoy reading and/or listening to great thinkers like Noam Chomsky.

I like all sorts of music everything from the Broken Bells to Black Keys.

I am avid reader. Just finished reading Willful Blindness (why we ignore the obvious at our peril). Other books that I recently read, Fooled by Randomness, by Nicholas Taleb Naseem, Empire of Illusion by Chris Hedges. I just picked up a book on The Renegade History of the United States, so far its fascinating. I have to admit that I do enjoy picking up the Economist and giving it a good read.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was in the Canadian Army and I got to take a Demolitions Instructors Course. We would setup all of our charges and then get to go to a bunker with blast proof glass. It was amazing to see the explosions and then see the shock wave as it caused the air to refract light. It is literally a wave.

I loved my time in the military, but in no way do I glorify war. I take a very reasonable and worldly view. As I said before, treat others as you would want to be treated.

Teach, Learn, Share

I guess I could teach you how to dance, I am not a teacher per se, just knowledgeable, and somewhat competent.

I would like to learn how to cook more dishes.

Countries I’ve Visited
