ABOUT ME

I am a pendulum, a living contradiction, swinging back and forth depending on how I feel...

Some people say I'm "cold and intellectual, too serious and arrogant". Others have told me that I changed their lives and made them believe that dreaming is still possible. Others, that I am a very good listener with an open mind and a philosophical attitude. And my parents says I'm disorganized :-) See for yourself.

PHILOSOPHY

Carpe diem! Start doing awesome things with your life now, time is counting...
I live my life to follow my dreams! These include visiting Macchu Picchu, learning Japanese to the fullest and living in Japan and working hard to make Mexico more known worldwide!
I recently realized you only need yourself to succeed, realize that no one is perfect and be willing to take some risks.
I want to have great adventures. I prefer living 70 years with a great life than 100 years with a boring life. Live your life with no regrets, like Nietzsche said.
I'm also a believer of Taoism, I believe it's natural and balanced view on life is a great guide for anyone's life. Religiously, I'm more of an atheist, although I believe all religions are based on logical principles to improve human interaction.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

-Attending some weekly activities like conversation clubs and Mexican wrestling matches that are sooo fun.
-Going out and meeting CSers that come to my city. So far I've had positive experiences with all of them, people from all 5 continents, and am looking forward to more!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been meeting impressive people from all over the world, helping them navigate the complexity of Mexico, and at the same time learning as much as possible from them.

Interests

Dancing, eating, philosophy (discussions about beauty, love, ethics, and life; I was part of a philosophy club in college) international politics, learning languages, tourism, world history, showing people around my country!

I also consider psychology and sociology very interesting topics, and how it is portrayed through art and mythology. Any psychology experts are greatly welcome!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Getting stuck in a zipline in the middle of a canyon in Chiapas, with water and crocodiles under me :p

Riding the Mexico City metro on saturday morning in my underwear with hundreds of people doing the same :-)

Meeting amazing people at a cs party and ending up with them eating tacos at 6:00 a.m. and discussing our best travel experiences and cheesiest love stories :-pConvincing an audience of 40 people in college I was a hypnotist :-)Seeing the sunset at Real de Catorce, a small lost town in central Mexico, the most beautiful one I've ever seen.Taking a night tour around downtown colonial Puebla about the Spanish Inquisition, with awesome actors and performances! History was brought back to life!My first scuba diving experience in Los Cabos recently!Mountain biking around the forests surrounding Mexico City, peaceful and beautiful landscapes, I feel I'm in heaven :)My trip to Québec some years ago, first time I interacted with snow in my life! So fun, and entire forests covered in white and frozen lakes that looked like thick glass... incredible.Tequila tasting in a dark warehouse full of barrels all around me, with friends and a professional tequila taster and only a dim lightbulb providing light. Learned the right way to drink to avoid affecting the taste of the drink!Interviewing a huichol indigenous artist at his house, knowing I made a friend deeply related to true indigenous culture. Looking at his pieces of art made in the brightest colors I have ever seen, Pink Floyd would be jealous :-p

Teach, Learn, Share

What I can teach you:

-All my Mexican history knowledge from when I was a museum guide... I love walking around the city, running into a historical place and telling myself "This is a historical place where politics were planned, blood was spilled and lovers made love"
-A place in Teotihuacán where you can hear an amazing echo
-The right way to drink tequila ;) and some drinking games
-Some of the best Mexican drinks and dishes
-Some basic origami (paper-folding) shapes I recently started learning, since I love Japanese culture.
-Spanish, English and some French!

What I would like to learn/do:

-To practice my English, French and basic Japanese/German! If you are a speaker of these languages don't hesitate to contact me.

-To host people interested and a bit knowledgeable about their country's culture. Talking about MTV is good but not as good as your local national experiences and what they mean to you ;)
