About Me

CURRENT MISSION

find my mission

ABOUT ME

My biggest dream is to travel as much as I can afford, which at the moment is not at all, unfortunately. I blame Wojciech Cejrowski for implanting a very strong restlessness in me, in the sense that his books show the kind of life I wish I had the courage, willpower and resources to live out.

PHILOSOPHY

1. Always look on the bright side of life.
2. Enjoy the little things.
3. The world is a beautiful place, even though we sometimes fail to see this.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Why am I here? Because it's a chance to see the world and to show a chunk of it to somebody else.

Interests

I love reading, mostly fantasy, mystery and books of travel. Besides that, I enjoy anything that suits my mood at the moment, be it spending a weekend playing video or board games or going out with friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

This wall of text that was here until now needed to go. Here's a shorter version:
if you have any horror or thriller movies worth recommending, please do! I enjoy them immensely. The Others, Primal fear, Shutter island are some of my faves. A good comedy such as Snatch or Dogma is a gem, and I enjoy detective stories as well.
I used to watch a lot of anime, but not recently. Still, my all-time favourites are Mononoke, FMA Brotherhood, Legend of Galactic Heroes, Honey and Clover and Wolf's Rain.

I'm a big fan of books, and a part of the Potter generation. I enjoy fantasy books the most (Chronicles of Narnia, Lord of the Rings, Silmarillion, The Hobbit, Terry Pratchett's works, Stephen King's books, such as the Shining, Salem's Lot or the Dreamcatcher, A Song of Ice and Fire, Tigana, China Mieville's and Guy Gavriel Kay's works.)
A book that probably moved me more than any other one is the Little Prince, however cliché you may find it ;)

As for music - my all-time favourite song is 'Stairway to Heaven' by a band that needs no introduction. It has everything - a soothing, beautiful melody at the beginning, a tap-your-foot tempo in the middle and a powerful, masterful guitar solo at the end, and meaningful lyrics sung with soul.
I'm a big fan of finding great video games tracks, in fact I used to write album reviews for a site focused on just that. Time constraints are the only thing stopping me from doing that again.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Not sure if it's amazing, but it sure had been sitting on my bucketlist for a long time - I have bungee jumped, three times, and can't say how much of a freeing experience it is! I'd recommend to anyone, anyday. If you can afford it, jump!
I also consider Ireland to be a pretty amazing place, so I guess it counts, since I've been there on two different occasions.
