About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To experience all the great things the world has to offer.

ABOUT ME

Fun, "I'll give it a go", and I love a laugh :)

***************
Please read My Home info!!!!
***************

I grew up in Tasmania, it is my home and the place i miss most when travelling. I am studying to be a registered nurse, and after graduating, and get a couple of years experience under my belt, I hope to get involved in humanitarian / aid work - would love to get back to the Middle East.

My parents are together, and I have a younger sister and a younger brother (who live at the other end of the state), and 4 pets. When I am at home, I live the other end of the city to my parents but my mum is a legend and we are good friends so I see her often. My family means a lot to me.

I love meeting new people and am generally up for anything. And I love to embrace my inner-hippy every now and then :)

PHILOSOPHY

The best things in life are random. Take every opportunity you are given - it could be the best time of your lfe. Try new things. Do things with passion. Create memories. Never stop learning. Appreciate what you have. And keep your eyes, mind and heart open.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Host, surf, and Friday's weekly cooking nights.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have gained a lot in the last few years, and have loved every second of it!! It's so much fun being a host, and it's my favourite way to travel.

Interests

beer (!), live gigs, novels, outdoors, different cultures, laughing with old friends, laughing with new friends, travelling (obviously), pubs, gym, diving, art (especially photography, though I am no good at it..), random conversations, cooking, skiing, the theatre, doing shoe-ies (usually with beer), whole-hearted characters and any type of music, except house music, as long as there is talent involved in producing it (this usually excludes top 40), I like to practice poi, though I'm not up to the flamming stage yet! Camping, surfing ( whlie laying down), parallel universes, dancing like a fucktard, embracing the natural.

Music, Movies, and Books

A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini is my all time favourite novel, but there are many greats, and I do love reading.

Music; some of my favourites include Laura Marling, The National, Ball Park Music, Regina Specktor, Washington, The Naked ad Famous and The Smith Street band.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A recent story: while in Jordan, I was invited to dinner by a bloke whom had recently fled there. So I spent the evening eating delicious mansaf, drinking rake, and learning Arab dances while dressed in a thawb and keffiyeh with a group of 8 or 10 Syrian rebels. And fuck I had a great time with those boys! :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Albania, Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Egypt, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Mexico, Montenegro, Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Sweden, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Vatican City State
