About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To find every green eyed human who can raise one eyebrow, and possibly do an eyebrow dance - for a video art piece that I'm making along my travels.

ABOUT ME

Traveling is a place where I feel "at home", I love to share opinions and views of this crazy thing called "life". I eventually believe I will go to University (my beautiful mother secretly wishes this everyday), but for the mean time I'm settled on traveling and discovering new things about my self and the world.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm not lost I'm just sightseeing.

"When you get older, life seems to just sort of happen to you. Your youth is a time of total empowerment. You get to do what you want. During early adulthood, your worldview is still being formed. It's important to steward this time, to give yourself opportunities to grow. A good way to do that is to travel" a quote from the Article '3 reasons to travel while you're young"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Whilst I was in Venice Beach,California my friends and I found a lovely host which was the first experience for myself aswell as the them. I couldn't say a bad word about it! He was so amazing, and welcoming providing us with a comfy place to stay for as long as we liked - and not to mention we got to experience the local way of living in Venice instead of the boring tourist way. This couch surfing experience will stay close to my heart for a long time. I have hosted a couple of couch surfers swell, which is always fun showing people around your home town! But in the past couple of months I had been dealing with a couple of personal things so wasn't able to support the couch surfing family which is the reason my reply rate is so low! But working on building that up!

Interests

I have been making little trips overseas ever since I left high school and have returned home each time with an unfinished feeling, soon to discover that there is a medical condition called "Dromomania" which means 'An uncontrollable impulse or desire to roam or travel'. I then started to panic and may or may not have diagnosed myself with this but for valid reasons...for an example - I have attempted University 3 times and travelled instead. Right now my passion is indeed travelling, film and music. On my return to Aus from Lombok back in April my wondering mind got me thinking that why not use these passions to create something beautiful. On the plane I kept finding myself looking out into the distance on numerous occasions day dreaming about being somewhere else but Australia. Once I returned home, I made a quick (maybe silly) decision to get the hell out of Melbourne with a one way ticket, as much as I do love Melbourne it is to familiar to me. Along these travels I will be creating episodes each month of every adventure I come across and uploading them to my website called 'Emma Frances - The Dromomaniac Project" which was built as my creative space and escape for my travels and music. So please check out the website even if I don't get to have the pleasure of meeting you but not many people realise that travelling is indeed a community - to share/listen to stories and discover hidden qualities about yourself that you can not discover at University.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had the pleasure of being a bridesmaid in a friends muslim wedding in Indonesia. She was from Australia and he was a local boy from Lombok, it was by far one of the most amazing things that I had ever been apart of. I was so touched by what I had seen that I decided to make a Documentary on their wedding, to share the love that two people can have for one another no matter what the circumstances areI

Staying in a haunted castle in Scotland, Attending Coachella 2012, and camping along the californian coast.
