Easier to refer you to Facebook than re-explain. In a nut-shell: I've lived here for five plus years and enjoy it. I gave up a life of 'stuff' and I am enjoying a simple life in a new culture. My careers have been varied and satisfying.

Interests

I am an explorer, lots of hiking, love of motorcycles. I've been a professional and hobby artist most of my life. My other occupations included being a mechanical designer/engineer. I worked at Dominos, the petroleum, aerospace and defense industries and many jobs in between. I had a great run as a professional artist as well. I am currently enjoying teaching but I am looking at new venues as well.

Over the past four years I have traveled extensively around Turkey by motorcycle camping whenever possible. This is the best way to really experience the country first hand. Except for the ancient archaeology sites, I tend to avoid most tourist places with no regrets. To date I have traveled 27,000km and should see at least another 5 to 7 thousand this summer.

Music, Movies, and Books

Always open to a new film, book, or music. Whenever I have a visitor, we copy and exchange movies and music. Presently I have about 3000 songs and 300 movies on file and always open to more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The house I rent is surrounded by fruit and nut trees. I can pick fresh cherries (sweet and tart), apricots, plums, walnuts and pomegranates all summer long. From there it's a short trip to the kitchen where I transform them into pies, cobblers, jams and preserves. I am always amazed at this.
