About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To just see the world and to be in the moment.

ABOUT ME

Curious about the world, culture lover, and a self proclaimed excellent chef. Travel, language, history, adventure, and new people are my addictions. As I’ve gotten older I have become more selective about my company and environments, but I am always looking for a good time.

PHILOSOPHY

Drop all the negativity and leave it in the past. This life is an adventure and should be treated as such. There is SOOO much in this world to discover! So I choose to live in the moment, to always appreciate what i have and to find the beauty in things. I strive for a higher conscienceness and have always found some of it in books, conversations, music, and the way the light shines on this beautiful planet.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I go to couch surfing events and have met some people. I've also stayed with hosts in 3 different countries and each experience has been incredible!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first experience was amazing ! My first host and myself still stay in contact to this day. It has shown me how much of an impact we can have on the experiences of others, and I strive to be as hospitable.

Interests

Good food. Nice restaurants. Beautiful views. Lovely conversation over drinks. Good music 🎶 and classy vibes. I’ve unfortunately outgrown being comfortable just anywhere. The Middle East has spoiled me with luxury and I prefer the finer things in life now.

But I love language and linguistics!! The number one thing I want to do is to learn languages and see the country while I travel. I am language teacher and could talk your head off about schooling in the Middle East.

A great hobby I picked up was learning how to cook. I expanded on that and try to make meals from around the world! Right now I can make some traditional dishes from Mexico, Spain, Brazil, Korea, Japan, India as well as Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, and Jordan. I'm always looking for new recipes and friends to share them with.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love fantasy, historical dramas, mystery, sci-fi, philosophical stuff and anything that gets the mind thinking and entertained.

The Arrival, Che, Harry Potter, East of Eden, are all within these categories! I do hate scary and action movies because they’re violent and way to predictable in my opinion. I don’t find pleasure in seeing blood everywhere.

As far as music I listen to anything from rap, GOOD country, french pop to 60's music, indie, or acoustic. I literally have no preferences, my taste in music changes from day to day and is based on my mood. I could wake up in a Beatles mood, then the next day blast Kid Cudi.
But if you want me to dance? : jungle beats, house music, reggaton, Brazilian funk and hip hop ..
If we are on the beach: Cuban music all the way ! Coronas, beaches and Beny More are beautiful collaborations ;)

Don't get me started on books. I won't stop talking. I read a BUNCH of classic literature like Shakespear and Charles Dickens to Steinbeck and Hemingway. I also enjoy philosophical, and travel books. I always find inspiration in those.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The one absolutely mind blowing thing I've done is to go El Clasico in Nou Camp!! It was probably the best night of my life! I got to see my favorite team in their own stadium with over 98,000 people, all chanting Messi's name a once! It made me fall in love with Travel!

Interacting with people from all Over the world is my biggest adrenaline rush. Learning about the world and helping others try to see it clearer is always an amazing thing for me.

Teach, Learn, Share

Looking for lessons in french, spanish, arabic, portuguese, german or any other languages! By the way, if you become interested in hosting me please write to me in English or French ! I can converse in Spanish but I couldn't spell anything to save my life -_-

I know everything there is about Californian culture because I've seen it all. If someone could trade information about their culture and language I'd be more than willing to share mine. I was the President of 3 clubs at my home university in Chico and I interned in the Study Abroad office. That means I have an enormous amount of access to the international community in Chico and can help you meet some amazing people that love to travel like us !

Also I understand there are some people who use this website to find hookups.. DO NOT INVITE ME if you think this what you can get. I travel alone a lot but that does NOT mean I will be vulnerable for someone or will tolerate being put in an uncomfortable situation. -__-
