About Me

My friends would probably say I'm stupid. Not a big fan of planning and I love being outdoors. I'm always pushing to climb a new mountain or jump off a bridge. Love to ski and hike, slowly getting into kayaking, and love to sleep under the stars but sometimes its necessary to have a roof. I'm from the USA but studied in Norway. Lived in Australia and India. Travelled a bit for a Yank and couchsurfed on 3 sort of 4 continents!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I talk to people! I use CS to keep up with people I meet when hitchhiking and sometimes meet some new! I'm quite a minimalist so I don't surf unless I really need to! But recently have really began to appreciate the community and love to host fun people!

Always great. Met some very strange people but their always nice and everybody's a bit weird, some just try to cover it up more than others! Met some of the greatest people in my life and always the best memories!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Northern lights were definitely a big moment for me. I am a christian and love to be out in nature but have never seen anything to compare to them. I've seen them 3 times now and they still amaze me.

I'd say mountains are some of the most magnificent things I have seen. I grew up in a part of the USA that was completely flat. Coming to Norway has really blown my mind, especially the amount of snow at different altitudes. Hiking and skiing up in real mountains has really been great and sitting on top looking out for miles.

Last amazing moment would probably be back home. Working at a summer camp in Wisconsin, I used to get up at 4am get in a kayak and paddle to the middle of the lake. Out their I'd relax, meditate, pray, or whatever else I needed to do to start the day. Pretty soon the sun would rise, a wind would pick up and i'd go back in and sleep until breakfast. Before the sun came up the lake would be completely calm with a perfect reflection of the sky. Just crazy
