About Me

CURRENT MISSION

"Only those who risk going too far will ever know how far they can go." - T.S. Elliot

ABOUT ME

Wildlife:
Genuine jest & laughter.
Happy, hip, hippie hip, hip.
Ghetto, fabulous, ghetto fabulous.

I grew up taking Greyhound buses from one city to another and long road trips across the country to meet people of different man-made borders. I have learned that once you drive across a line, the keys of music change, the tone of voice, words, attitudes, beliefs, and morals vary. In San Francisco, we dance. In Vermont, we hike. In Pittsburgh, we swing across bridges, & in all, we breathe. I love to be with humans to learn these differences and similarities. The broader range of understanding we have, the more men we will understand. And these understandings are what keep us alive to each other.

PHILOSOPHY

By living gently and tucking travels under bone, I try to make sense of this world. I watch the Redwoods and drinkers of Turkish wine who read Gideon's Bible. I love picking oranges and feasting with strangers as we appreciate the peels and air.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

"be a part of the love club
everything will glow for you"

I'm the happiest member of the club.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm head over heels for this kind of living.

Interests

A lot of my time is spent on my academic grind, writing poetry, and playing music. I'm a family person and I spend a lot of time with friends, sometimes wondering if the sun had exploded eight minutes ago or how much we see is an illusion. Any chance that I get, I travel to visit and meet people. Interested in religions, the mind, and conversation.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One summer, I spent some time on a Lakota reservation in Pine Ridge, South Dakota. We camped in the Badlands and ran from coyotes. During our travels, we watched a rain cloud travel, like a sliding block, and sped up to meet the water.

I was a guest of the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony's tour of Italia. We traveled from place to place and played classical music in spas surrounded by statues that were built before America was discovered by Europeans. To imagine a city that was once alive, while walking through the ruins of Pompeii, reminded me of how much history and the number of ideas we walk on every single day.

Teach, Learn, Share

Open your eyes, ears, body, mind to every soul you meet. We miss an awful lot if we only look at the sidewalk.
