About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Slow Word Travel :)

ABOUT

My first passion for traveling really began when I was doing a gap year after having my sociology degree, I went to Australia for 9 months, following by 3 months in Japan. During this year, I also went to Indonesia and to Thailand.
This first experience at 22 years old made my mind completely different than the one I use to have and I feel like it's impossible to choose where to settle now.
After this gap year, I went back to France to study a master but it didn't really go as expected (I suppose that this is the risk to take when we start traveling around) and I ended up being a French language assistant in Nottingham, England for two years.

It's in Nottingham than John and I met, and after all of this time in rainy and moody England it seem like we were ready to move on! In November 2016 we left the UK to travel for about two years.

We spend some time in Europe, USA, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Bolivia, Peru, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and Japan, mixing time with family and friends , volunteering in hostels, couchsurfing...

After two years of travelling, we recently moved to New Jersey, and are awaiting to see what's next for us!

We are both open minded, easy going, learning photography as a hobby and in love with books and boardgames.
We also like good food and we know how to appreciate simple moments such as a nice and quiet sunrise, a few tapas when it's apéro time and such.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I never hosted someone because I begin to use couchsurfing when I was in Australia and therefore I never really had my own place since then.

I used a lot couchsurfing when I was traveling, and specially in Japan. I didn't really use CS in the past to find a couch but simply to find people to hang out with ! I went to few CS event and I met a lot of CS people. It was really amazing and I met such a good people, I really love the CS community!

When I moved to Nottigham, UK, I didn't know anybody and it's all naturally that I have started using Couchsurfing again to meet people from all around the world. The community was quite quiet but I managed to organize few meetings and I met incredibly people by doing that :)

Too many!
But the book who touched me the most is definitely "the Shadow of the Wind" from Carlos Ruiz Zafon

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Walking in Moroccan desert
Washing an Elephant in Bali
Wearing a Kimono in Kyoto

More recently, taking this decision to quit everything to travel around! Exciting but scary at the same time.

Teach, Learn, Share

Unfortunately, I don't play music (but I would love to play piano, accordion or violin, not today but maybe one day..)
I like to cook for people so I'm sure John and I could cook a nice meal for you!
I'll be happy to help you learn some French as well.
