ABOUT ME

I live very much in my own world, but I love visitors. For some reason, I feel more at home on the road than in my hometown. I love my bunny, Harley. I love to sit on the roof and gaze at the stars, but I also enjoy the passing of traffic; I like to imagine that someone who will eventually be significant in my life is passing by. My heart is quite restless. I want very much to do good.

This year, I have written a letter to someone every day. I want to bring a little light in the lives of others.

I try to have fresh flowers in my house at all times. I love daffodils and irises, but, honestly, my go-to flowers are mini-carnations. People make fun of my 'funeral flower' preference, but they are beautiful, smell great, and last for weeks!

PHILOSOPHY

I TRY to do all for the good, but that is quite a lofty goal which is often not met. I try to do no harm to others, but I am hoping to take a more proactive approach and focus on doing more good.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couch surfed quite a bit already during the summer of 2012, and it's still not over! I've had many wonderful experiences and one, well, awkward one.

Interests

I could sit and observe life all day, but I also like to make sure I live it. I like to spend time enjoying all who and all that is around me, whether that be on a porch playing cards or out at a show. I love music and am ready to start learning the mandolin! Biking around town is the way to go.

Music, Movies, and Books

Damien Rice, Ray Lamontagne,The Avett Brothers, The Decemberists, Morning Teleportation, Bon Iver, Fleet Foxes, Punch Brothers, Mayer Hawthorne, Kings of Convenience, Nickel Creek, Jamie Cullum, etc. I love all kinds of music, especially stuff with a folk or bluegrassy feel. Bowling Green has an amazing music scene, and I'm lucky to be in the midst of it!

I love to read. Some of my favorite books would have to be The Consolation of Philosophy, Walden, The Tao of Pooh, On the Road, Works of Love, and Purity of Heart. I have a growing collection of Kierkegaard's works.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I would say that I'm still in the process of doing something amazing - keeping my New Year's resolution to write a letter every day.
