Quiet but friendly, kind, responsible,enjoys young people. Have 5 children in their teens and 20s, all of whom do travel or want to travel.

Interests

My 2 main hobbies are family tree and gardening. I am a chef by trade. Born in Scotland, immigrated to Canada as a child. Love cats and all animals and nature. Like camping, beaches, restaurants and cafes, dancing,and walking. I have always enjoyed hearing about other people's cultures and customs.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent a year, at age 20, working as an apprentice chef at a 400 year old inn in the Scottish Borders. For the first 6 weeks, I slept in a room in the old part of the hotel that was surely haunted!
As an immigrant, I remember the first time I felt truly Canadian. A former prime minister, Pierre Trudeau, died and my sister and our children drove 5 hours to Ottawa for the lying-in-state, then waited 3 hours to pay our respects. Mr. Trudeau was popular in my family due to his efforts on behalf of immigrants and cultures.
