ABOUT ME

I have caught the travel bug since studying abroad for a year in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Since then I have been to four of the five major continents and hope that I will one day get to Australasia.

I enjoy getting off the tourist trail and discovering quirky activities that others may not know about. I love learning about different cultures and people's different perceptions of the world. I also enjoy hunting down and sampling traditional and local food and am always up for trying something new.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have both surfed and hosted plus also help organise Couchsurfing events within Exeter.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Whilst studying I surfed in many countries in Europe and Central America. Then when I moved to Exeter started to host more. When I go on holiday I always hope to couchsurf where possible. I'm also part of the social couchsurfing scene in Exeter and know many of my friends through this as when you meet someone from CS you know you will likely share a natural affinity with them.

Interests

Camping, wave surfing, festivals, chilling outside in the sun, exploring new places, hitchhiking

Music, Movies, and Books

The Butterfly effect, Happy Feet, A little Princess, Memento, Inglorious Bastards, Yes Man, True Stories, Popular Psychology Books, Travel Adventure Books, Music varied, mostly indie and rock, but anything when the lyrics are good or also so awful that they are good!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Won a hitchhiking contest from Utrecht, Netherlands to Venice, Italy.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to share my travel stories with others and discussing the quirks of different cultures. If you are in Exeter I enjoy sharing its and Devon's secrets and recommending activities that you may have not considered. Previously working at a Deaf school I learnt conversational sign language which I am happy to teach.

I also love discussing psychology and a good deep conversation.
