I am a considerate and sensitive man who loves to laugh and meet new people. I desire to make good connections with people but I can be very shy. When it feels right, I am very comfortable sharing my most joyful and painful experiences for the sake of knowing others and being known, truly. I enjoy having a good time (but not often a drunk time) and I am more the person who steps up to the challenge rather than the person who proposes the challenge :).

I strive (its definitely not easy!) to stay present in my state of awareness, practice empathy and vulnerability in my life and connect with people while being aware of my humanity and all that entails....

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The way I understand (my) humanity, the essential goal is to find and make connections with others. I have traveled a lot and live far from my family. My parents were immigrants themselves (so they were the same). I had a lot of experiences that made me want to run away from my environment when I was young. I understand now how important it is to have strong relationships but also historical ones. I have seen important people in my life come and go. That is life. In some ways, it is a numbers game. It's important to be making connections whenever possible, because even if it doesn't blossom today, it may in the future. And (my) life will be sustained by the connections I have. It's impossible to know where you can find them, but couchsurfing offers a unique opportunity to discover them.

Interests

A traditional interest of mine is music instruction and performance, specifically with US-style marching percussion - or drumline.

Outside of that, I like to look good and eat well!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I will summarize one moment as all the moments with people where we have connected in such a meaningful way that I am left feeling almost formless - as though we were one. Those moments are incredible.

Another summarized moment: every time I have entertained an audience, individually standing out on stage amidst a strong group of performers. I get filled with joy and probably too much pride :p

I can teach you how to make Pakistani food from scratch (takes a lot of effort, but is extremely tasty).

I can teach you how to make really good american chocolate chip cookies (not much effort, very tasty, very unhealthy :p)

by the way, I am a very clean person who is probably too mindful of the impact I have when I visit someone in their home. If I seem nervous about sitting properly on your couch or using a cushion or something, that's just me, I will relax eventually :p.
