About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To finally find the monster hiding under my bed, look it in the eye and say, "Hey, let's party!!"

ABOUT ME
I have traveled in more than 150 countries from Antarctica to the Arctic and everything else in between. Am also an author and write travel stories.

Indian American. A smooth creamy premium blend of Western and Eastern traditions. Having lived in the US, Europe and Asia, I have made a proper mess of who the hell I am and where the hell I belong.

I enjoy dark humor, sarcasm, irony, subtlety and laughing at myself. I slither through life with ease without sweating small things.

As I got older and wiser, I also got smarter and bought me some good quality rubber underwear so most things just slide off my back like water off a baby's butt. In short, I am someone who is totally at peace with myself.

PHILOSOPHY

Everything in life is so bloody overrated except good wine and good beer.

Of all the emotional investments you make in life, anger gives you the least returns--keep it out of your portfolio.

There is nothing like too much cheese;
Cheesus loves you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosted many, surfed and participated in tonnes of activities including starting a CS cooking club in Munich which now has almost 500 members.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Nobody stole my shampoo bottle yet so I guess it's all good so far.

Interests

vary between 5% and 9.5% depending on deposit amount.

Otherwise cooking, playing poker, traveling and writing are my favorite hobbies. Other hobbies include art, movies, music, literature etc. I am particularly fond of cooking Indian, Chinese, Thai and Italian cuisine so if I ever visit you, or you ever visit me, you are guaranteed a delicious dinner.

I also like good cheese, good wine and cold beer.

Music, Movies, and Books

Like all good Americans, I don't read; I just wait for the movie--it's quicker and I get to eat popcorn. Frankly, apart from IKEA and Victoria Secrets catalogs now-a-days I don't find anything worth flipping the pages.

Seriously, I like old black and white movies. Big fan of directors like David Lean, Frank Capra, John Ford and William Wyler. I enjoy all kinds of music including western classical and some Bollywood music of yesteryears. I have read quite a lot of literature, both classical and modern. Dostoevsky, Salman Rusdie, Hemingway, Gabriel Garcia are some of the writers I admire.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Pick one--Hanging around with more than a million penguins in Antarctica, Arctic Svalbard north pole, Polar plunge in ice cold Antarctic Ocean, Masai Mara Serengeti safari in Kenya, Kilimanjaro, Mt. Everest, Gobi desert, Riding through Pamirs in Kyrgystan, Tajikistan and Afghanistan, Victoria falls in Zambia, Iguazu falls, Patagonia, Okavango Delta in Botswana, Table mountain, Cape of good hope, Cappadoccia in Turkey, Dubrovnik, Riding on a camel in the desert in Egypt, Egyptian Pyramids, Wadi Rum desert and Petra in Jordan, Angkor Wat in Cambodia, Ayer's rock, Great barrier reef, South Island in New Zealand, Bagan in Burma, Niagara Falls, being dwarfed by the sheer size and majesty of Grand Canyon, coming downhill 16 kilometers on a sled along the snowy icy bends in Austrian Alps, German Autobahns, Taj Mahal, backwaters of Kerala etc etc etc

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you the amazing art of making a living out of being a total lazy-ass and procrastinating things forever. I have lot of travel stories to share. I can teach you a lot about cooking and how to play poker.
