Über mich
CURRENT MISSION
I want to learn always, and never lose my intellectual curiosity.
ABOUT ME
I'm a Brazilian visual artist and teacher, living in the US for over 27 years. I love to travel, love to try new foods and meet new people. I'm a bit of a health nut, I'm crazy about cinema, love NPR, This American Life, The Moth, am a fan of farmers markets, book shops and vintage stores. I tend to like creative, open minded, well travelled unpretentious people. One thing that might be important to know about me, is that despite being an artist, I'm very sophisticated and very neat and organized. I don't like clutter and have a pretty refined aesthetic sensibility. My apartment is very eclectic, organized, clean and full of interesting books. I have a tendency to collect vintage things, specially from the 1920s.
PHILOSOPHY
Strive to be the best version of yourself, never settle for mediocrity, think creatively, and use your moral compass to act in a constructive and ethical manner. I believe we are all here to learn something important, regardless of our social-economic status. I believe in a higher purpose for being.
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
A friend of mine told me about Couchsurfing several years ago, and honestly, I had never heard of it, but thought it was such a fantastic idea! Since I travel around a lot and I can't always stay with friends, I thought, why not? Maybe I'll meet some really cool people and I can host as well. The experiences I've had so far hosting and Couchsurfing have been wonderful. It's so much more then simply allowing people to stay at my place... it's opening up my home and my life to new friendships with travelers from around the globe, whom I would otherwise not have met, had it not been for Couchsurfing.
Interessen
These are some of my favorite things: Art, film, photography, Bikram Yoga, swimming, sunny days (really dislike winter), exotic spicy foods, traveling adventures, intellectual conversations, good books, psychoanalysis, homeopathy, raw foods, holistic medicine in general, and I love being anywhere where there's water. In all honesty, I'm more likely to attend a film festival over most other activities (unless going to the beach is an option).

Musik, Filme und Bücher
So many movies!!!! Can't list them all here, but will tell you a couple of my favorite ones: Revolutionary Road, Maelstrom, American Beauty, Orlando, City of Lost Children, Doctor Strangelove, Everything is Illuminated, Notes on a Scandal, Carandiru, City of God, Little Otik, La Vie en Rose, Holy Smoke, Magnolia, The Lives of Others, The Beat that My Heart Skipped, All About my Mother,....
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
I've been teaching inner-city public high school kids for 13 years now... and that's pretty amazing (that I've survived this long!!!).
Lehren, lernen, teilen
I can tell you a lot about art and I'm always looking for collaborators for my photo shoots. I can spend a lifetime talking to you about movies.
I can learn a lot from other artists, photographers, actors, directors and other creative types. But if you are none of that, but has travelled all over the world, I'd love to hear all about your adventures.
Filmmakers, writers, artists, graphic designers, photographers, jornalists and philanthropists are especially welcome!
